Naturally Peter Lerner has already been sent out to assure the world's press that there was a Hamas base inside each of the dead children's skulls 🙄

ConnieCounter · 06/06/2024 18:25

@Dulra did you hear the Israeli spokesperson on Drivetime? I think it was the English guy David Mencer. It was embarrassing. He just attacked Ireland throughout. Sarah McInerney had to point out to him that we're not the ones bombing schools but it was the usual stuff. Ireland being meanies to Israel and not letting them bomb civilians in peace.

I'll post a link to the interview if they put it up as a podcast.

No didn't hear him must have switched off just in time! I have heard him before he is painful to listen to. Sarah McInerney is well able for him. Will catch him on the podcast.

Apparently it's still all just 'self defence'. Nobody is even shocked anymore that Israel is bombing a school housing displaced civilians including many children.

Scirocco · 06/06/2024 19:02

Horrific. How much blood needs to be spilled before this ends?

RTE news : Borrell calls for probe after Israeli strike on UN school

http://www.rte.ie/news/middle-east/2024/0606/1453278-gaza-israel/

EU calling for independent investigation into it

The IDF will never allow this.

Just realised today is Thursday! That one is interesting too. It’s about Biden’s announcement and how it was designed to speak to the Israeli people so that pressure would be put on Natanayau to end the war.

Yes different one today. I'm not sure why they even have Israeli spokespeople on. It's not as though they have Hamas or Russian spokespeople on to discuss their atrocities. Also they lie and abuse RTE and Ireland.

Agree the spokesperson from UK lawyers for Israel is the worst he just keeps lying and Philip Boucher Hayes is always trying to be impartial so sometimes lets him away with it which is so frustrating

It's relentless, they have barely time to catch their breath between the attacks and displacements, horrific is the right word.

The ambassador is awful too. Blatant lies every time she's on.

Netanyahu’s sole motivation is to save his own skin/avoid prosecution.

Anyone who continues to support him should question themselves then hang their head in shame.

He does not care for the people and the future of Israel. He certainly does not care about any surviving hostages.

Those poor, poor people.

HelenHen · 06/06/2024 20:01

Anyone supporting this madness should not be given airtime. We don't need to hear the other side to killing children

Auvergne63 · 06/06/2024 20:46

Biden was at the D-day commemoration, speaking of fighting evil, whilst selling weapons which kill children on a daily basis. How dare he!
I am French and felt nothing but sheer anger at his hypocrisy.
We, as a nation, owe a huge debt to the American soldiers as well as the British and Australians. What he represents now is an insult to their memories.

10UsernamesNotAvailableTryAnotherOne · 07/06/2024 01:28

Horrific! I wonder what the response would be if Hamas bombed an Israeli school like this.

AhNowTed · 07/06/2024 07:06

What I find revolting is watching western politicians falling over themselves at the D-day commemoration, and not a fucking word about this.

Scirocco · 07/06/2024 07:28

People say never again, while supporting it.

I couldn't watch any of the commemorative things. Like so many of us, I had family members and family friends who fought in WW2. They would be disgusted by this.

Dulra · 07/06/2024 08:28

@AhNowTed @Scirocco

Completely agree
Even just seeing those surviving soldiers and family members of the fallen and how broken and traumatised they still are 80 years on. I don't know how if ever the Palestinians can ever recover from the psychological scars and trauma from this conflict. For anyone who has ever studied the impact of trauma on children will know it is has far reaching consequences that can have an impact on a child's brain development, cause delayed social and emotional development and contribute mental health issues as they get older.
Depressing the world has learnt nothing from the past and in 2024 people still believe peace can be achieved through violence death and destruction.

Sunak left early to attend an interview for ITV to be aired next week! The man is an hypocrite of the highest order!

This is what really worries me. What will happen to these children in the future?
