To try and condemn them to a ‘life’ with even less space!

Oh dear, I said they'd be after Lebanon next 🤦🏻‍♀️

I think the plan for the Palestinians is to dump them in the Sinai. I don't know whether Egypt will have any choice about this.

What's mine is mine, what's yours is mine.

Lifesd · 05/11/2023 22:18

What would you ideal solution be given that Hamas won’t accept a two state solution and will only ever accept the annihilation of Israel?

TakeMe2Insanity · 05/11/2023 22:19

The Israeli’s have been saying dump them in the sinai for ages. The Palestinians know that if they go they’ll lose any claim to their la d or even the physical ability to return.

They’ve offered to pay off Egypt’s IMF debt to realise they’re Greater Israel. They’ve started to make life untenable for people in the West Bank too. Sadly it does not bode well.

immigrant002 · 05/11/2023 22:28

I mean their plans are quite obvious ! Land get more
Land ... i saw a video of some sort of celebration with idf soldiers he was saying this will be a month written in our history and how
Lebanon will
Be next !

Not in this thread as well 🤦🏻‍♀️ this question probably has been answered in the other thread you’re at today.

I’m not the only one posting my opinion across multiple threads @EasterIssland

This.

ketchup07070 · 05/11/2023 22:47

@Lifesd My ideal solution would not include penning Palestinians into the south, or pushing them into Sinai. I certainly don't want the Lebanese pushed out or occupied.

Netanyahu does not and never has wanted a 2 state solution. His politics are so far right he makes Trump look like a socialist.

Israel may not have explicitly stated they want to annihilate Palestinians but they're doing it anyway. I'm struggling to think of a single historical example of the oppressed bombing the shit out of their oppressor for 3 weeks straight and killing thousands.

Lifesd · 05/11/2023 22:55

@FOJN allied forces did similar at the end of WW2, I’d also suggest you look at more recent conflicts like Saudi/Yemen and the atrocities in Syria.

So what’s your proposal for a solution then ?

Lifesd · 05/11/2023 23:10

@EasterIssland i honestly don’t have one. If the ruling parties won’t accept a two state solution or release any hostages in order to secure a ceasefire and won’t stop bombing Israel what are they supposed to do? I’m as horrified as the next person at the killing! On both sides!

Sugaristheenemy · 05/11/2023 23:13

Not really sure what that had to do with driving the Palestinians into Egypt. Can Israel not defeat Hamas without doing this?

Hamas will just set up shop in Egypt which Egypt does NOT want so they will probably not let it happen anyway.

You forgot to mention what the Palestinians have gone through as well : women raped / kids detained and tortured / settlers kicking people out of their houses/ people being killed . All these the Palestinians have to put up for long … so I hope in your 2 state plan it’s not only stop bombíng Israel but leave Palestinians alone.

Isn't the annihilation of Gaza equally as bad as the annihilation of Isreal?

My ideal solution would be for everyone to recognise each others shared humanity and treat all human life as equal.

What is your ideal solution? Surely bombing refugee camps isn't part of yours?

Hamas have previously agreed to a 2 state solution though. It's Israel that won't allow that to happen.

Israel want to destroy Palestine and they are doing it as we speak. Israel isn't being annihilated. Palestine is.

ItsRainingTacos79 · 06/11/2023 00:48

@Lifesd The Israeli government rejected a two state solution in 2016 when John Kerry presented a plan with Israel pulling back to 1967 borders and Jerusalem becoming the capital for both states and an end to Israeli occupation. Mahmoud Abbas was keen to resume the peace process if Israel stopped further settlement construction.

Sadly settlement construction has always been the obstacle which the Israeli government doesn't want to address. It feeds resentment which continues to manifest itself in ongoing Hamas atrocities.

Quote from article :

In a meeting with Jewish community leaders at the White House on 12 October, Joe Biden said he thought that the end result of the tragedy and bloodshed in Israel and Gaza would be a Middle East that was changed for the better.
"But then again, I have been referred to as a congenital optimist," the US president added.
On the ground here in the region, such optimism has proven to be a rare commodity.

Few reasons for optimism after Antony Blinken's diplomatic dash

Over three frantic days, Antony Blinken tried to find middle ground where none exists, for now.

Does Israel have an endgame?

“Some of U.S. President Joe Biden's aides are concerned that while Israel may craft an effective plan to inflict lasting damage to Hamas, it has yet to formulate an exit strategy, a source in Washington familiar with the matter said.

Trips to Israel by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin this past week had stressed the need to focus on the post-war plan for Gaza, the source added.

Arab officials are also alarmed that Israel hasn't set out a clear plan for the future of the enclave, ruled by Hamas since 2006 and home to 2.3 million people.

"Israel doesn't have an endgame for Gaza. Their strategy is to drop thousands of bombs, destroy everything and go in, but then what? They have no exit strategy for the day after," said one regional security source.”

What is Israel’s endgame in Gaza invasion?

Israel is vowing to wipe out Hamas in a relentless onslaught on the Gaza Strip but has no obvious endgame in sight, with no clear plan for how to govern the ravaged Palestinian enclave even if it triumphs on the battlefield.

When was this? hamas stated aim is to annihilate Israel and that has not apparently changed. Curious.
