"The Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has disciplined a junior member of his cabinet who appeared to voice openness to the idea of Israel carrying out a nuclear strike on Gaza.
Netanyahu’s office said in a statement that the minister concerned – heritage minister Amihai Eliyahu from a far-right party in the coalition government – had been suspended from cabinet meetings “until further notice”.

Asked in a radio interview about a hypothetical nuclear option, Eliyahu replied: “That’s one way.” His remark made headlines in Arab media and scandalised mainstream Israeli broadcasters."

Nuking an area of land right next to your own country would be a bit of an own goal I suspect.

Well he's been suspended so I suppose that's something

FOJN · 05/11/2023 16:18

The fact that he's been suspended doesn't persuade me of anything other than Netanyahu understanding the optics are bad. If a government minister felt bold enough to say that in an interview then I imagine what get said in private is far more worrying.

He also said the people of Gaza should go and live in Ireland or the desert and reiterated that there are no innocent civilians in Gaza which exposes the Israeli governments lie about trying to minimise civilian casualties.

Netanyahu is the worst thing that could have happened to Jews, all over the world, and to those in Israel, and Israel itself.

Bibi will ruin israel
22.04.24
Bibi Netanyahu will destroy israel You can't unsee it anymore. He will destroy the country, since he has no other choice. Netanyahu is a prisoner in the insanity of the growth of a dictator, who sees in the country his private property. He's so accustomed to controlling, that he is unable to accept a situation where someone else will take his place. From his point of view, ousting power is like a transfer of ownership of property.
Bibi is like a jealous husband, who can't imagine his wife in the arms of another. It's a disorder that has no cure. I cringe when these words come out of me. Nevertheless, a man I've supported for years. When I considered him my friend, and more importantly, I saw in him a politician of a high class, whose main eyes are data for the peace and security of the israel
But now I have no choice but to feel a deep conflict; not only present of the distorted values, but even of the absolute absence of shame. If his judgment does not teach him, that the duty of personal exemplary commandment to erase immediately the disgrace shown in the lifestyle of his famous son — at a time when sons of his age give themselves on the battlefield — how can we trust this judgment at all. Only extreme insensitivity, which I avoid being described in pathological terms, can allow such a rude finger-shaking in the eyes of parents who are grieving, for example.
Chronicles is full of Rodans of this kind. In a historical episode that Netanyahu knows him well, you can find a very notorious dictator, who was systematically taken with the word "absolutely": "total victory", "total mutilation". Without compromise. Even when his kingdom died and fluttered the last butterflys he continued to use this term. Lack of attention to the connotation, on the part of those who have been well originally, is even more evidence of the destructive consciousness operating in his case.
Netanyahu's tyrannical paranoia will leave a nose in ruins. This is the vision of the one who was discovered — tragically late — as the number one terrorist supporter. Neither Mansour Abbas nor Ahmad Tibi, but he, Bibi, was the one who insisted on financing the Gazan terror monster, on its tunnels and inside them the best of us spilled their blood. And for what, for God's sake? If only there was an act for regulating the regime to replace Hamas' rule in Gaza. But in his innocence the threats will not promote it, not to appeal his government and to ensure its survival.
Netanyahu will pay, at our expense, any price, and only that his private property - Kerry, the state of israel - will not fall completely in the hands of the enemy. And there's no intention for Hamas or Hezbollah, and not even Iran, but for his prime minister successor, whose haunted consciousness of Bibi is evil incarnated, absolute evil.
And therefore, to the extent of horror, there is no chance that the war will end in the foreseeable future. Neither willingly nor according to logic. Her continuity is the only barrier to prevent his private catastrophe. The war will end only with the overthrow of Netanyahu. Those who benefit from the illusion that it is possible to wait for the wheels of democracy in the slow journey towards the change of power - mainly those who are still glued to Netanyahu - should sober up quickly from his illusion.
Time after time we witness the decisions made not for our benefit, but for Netanyahu's personal benefit, whose remaining in power is in his eyes the forefront of everything. But the pace of destruction is swift and erratic, and if we want a state, we must accelerate the move that will prevent this destruction.

He should be sacked.
