brazil nuts, pineapple juice and an aspirin each day for sucessful conception

Anyone else heard of this or tried it. I was surfing some of the fertility web sites and this came up time and time again. Might give it a whirl but has anyone got any advise on the aspirin part as I have always avoided them.

Hi, my SIL has to take an aspirin a day whilst ttc as her blood is too thick and the foetus (sp?) cannot get enough oxygen (she has had at least 4 m/c). This is all I know about the link between aspirin + ttc. Obv Aspirin thins the blood so it may well work....

the aspirin is supposed to be low dosage (less than 81 mg) you have to ask specifically for this

oh that is worth knowing twiggers as most on fertility webs have been saying 1/2 a tablet and some 1 tablet.

just ask for baby aspirin and double check with pharmacist its under 81mg

Wouldn't be a great idea for me if I were having probs TTC, although it may well solve all my probs once and for all! Anaphylaxis to Brazil nuts wouldn't increase my chances of a baby I feel!

Lol Flossam, just picturing you eating a handful of brazil nuts then BDing whilst shoving an epipen (sp?) in your thigh!

I have thrombophelia which means basically you have sticky blood and in pregnancy and it can cause a mc in early weeks and also makes you more prone to dvt i have to take 75 mg of dispersable asprin every day to thin my blood. I think it would be a good idea to ask your dr to do a blood test first to see if you have a blood conditon before you start taking low dose asprin though.

is the dispersable thingy important. The last couple of days i have taken a quarter of an asprin which is 75mg?

Edodgy, how did you know you may of had sticky blood. Was it just a process of elimination by the GP or are there other symptoms that indicated this could be the problem?

I only found out with this pregnancy they decided to test me for it when i had my booking in blood tests as i mentioned my mum had had a blood clot in her leg with her pregnancy with me and apparently it can be hereditary. Was annoyed with them actually as i only got the positive result back when i was 20 weeks pregnant and nobody had tested me when i was pregnant with my dd (now 2) even though i'd told them then about my mum's blood clot and i had a mc at 8 weeks in 2004 which was probably caused by this conditon. Apparently if you have this conditon you have a very high chance of mc a pregnancy so i guess ive been lucky to have had my dd and to have got to 25 weeks with this pregnancy.

Normally its only tested for if you have had recurrent mc though unless as in my case your mum or relative had it.

You end up trying anything when you're desperate to get pregnant I went and bought Robittusin after hearing it thins your mucus (yuk)

I know what you mean, i spent £400 on vitamins via Foresight to try and get pregnant with out ivf before I had ds AND drank and ate nothing but organic food. Cost a fortune.
