Positive OPK today!!!!! That means I will probably ovulate on Wednesday, going on previous performance. SWIed last night and will do for the next few nights so we should have all our bases covered. Looking like a normal length cycle as well.

Now, this part of the cycle is more interesting....

digitalgirl · 07/06/2010 19:15

Depends on how clued up your GP is. I think *you can definitely say your cycles are irregular and get yourself tested for PCOS. If you're not too sure about your GP then ask to be referred to a gynaecologist.98

Am also wondering whether clomid would sort me out. But also wondering whether to pay for another series of acunpuncture sessions. I had them when ttc DS for the cycle before the cycle that I conceived. It's more expensive but a much more gentle way of influencing my body's hormones. 8888

Must dash, DS is attempting to add to this post.

Hi decafgirl, have shared my commiserations on the Charters Anon thread, but, again, I'm really sorry AF got you. I know all about irregular cycles so I know how frustrating and depressing it can be.

Am thinking about getting some money from somewhere for acupuncture and / or reflexology [sneaks off to find money-tree-growing instructions on dodgy website somewhere) if I don't conceive over the next few months and start getting more regular cycles, before I go down the Clomid route. maybe you should give it a go too?

In the meantime my presciption for you is, kick back, get drunk and eat some chocolate

Miffles · 07/06/2010 21:36

Decaf and digi - irregular cycles suck!!! I am not sure whether I'm more or less fortunate that my cycles are super often - the last 4 have been about 17 days apart. But pathetic ones. So not convinced I'm ovulating at all.

I'm trying to cover all bases with weight loss, supplements, going for reflexology soon, exercising, relaxing more and also waiting for my PCOS ultrasound. Yeish - I'm exhausted just re-reading all of that!! Just as well men don't have to do all of this, or we'd never have children!!!

My doc said that since my periods had been irregular for months and we suspected PCOS he'd refer me to get that diagnosed. If it was positive, then I could go onto fertility specialist for clomid. If not, I'd have to wait 12 months before referring - so make sure you tell your GP the longest you can feasible say that you've been TTC!!

And debka - push off!! You're already pg!! You know you'll get TMI about your little sis if you keep hanging around here! x

Prinpo · 07/06/2010 21:42

decaf, I'm so sorry to hear that AF got you. You must be feeling really miserable and fed up. I hope you're looking after yourself tonight.

I can't see what harm a trip to your GP would do. I don't know how old you are but, as I'm sure you know, if you're older then it's recommended to go after 6 months (advice that I'm ignoring at the ripe old age of nearly 39). With such irregular periods it must be incredibly difficult to know when to SWIing. It's all very well someone saying, "Well, just have lots of sex" but life isn't always like that and it's disheartening and can really put you off if you try month after month. You could at least discuss your options and know what's available to you.

I remember from the Feb bus how hopeful you sounded so my thoughts really are with you.

decafgirl · 07/06/2010 22:31

Thanks so much Prinpo I do feel really down but the only way I can deal with things is to try and 'fix' it but it's not always that easy is it?

This is the first time my LP has altered so I was really hopeful this time.

I'm looking into reflexology and seeing the GP on Friday

Also thinking about Agnus Castus - does anyone know how much I need to take?

Orchid12 · 08/06/2010 08:28

Hi Decaf,
Sorry to hear your news. I know how you feel . I'm just about to go to the docs myself so have to be quick, but I have taken Agnus Castus for the last two cycles and they have been perfect (aside from not being PG of course!). I bought 1000mg and take two a day until I ovulate and then not again until the next cycle. When I had a long, annovulatory cycle in Feb, towards the end of the cycle I started taking the Agnus Castus to kick start things and I started with 4 a day! My reflexolgist approved of this dose and within 4 days my period started. It may have been co-incidence but given the past two cycles have been perfect too I'm not sure it is.

Also, I only stopped BF properly in Feb, so am now wondering if that has got anything to do with it as I am still producing small amount of milk (apologies if that is TMI!).

Got to dash or I'll be late for the doc!
Orchid

debka · 08/06/2010 11:06

sorry

Rockbird · 08/06/2010 11:44

Hi Decaf, sorry to see you here I'm also on Agnus Castus, although mine says 100mg x 2 twice a day so I'm up to my ears in them! Add that to the Pregnacare and I rattle when I walk!

I'm back from holiday and DH was back just in time to squeeze in a quickie. Loads of EWCM yesterday (sorry!) so might have another go tonight (it's a chore...) and then I'm symptom spotting kicking my heels till the 25th or thereabouts. Fun fun fun...

digitalgirl · 08/06/2010 12:30

decaf I think you are me two days in the future. Am 15dpo and still no period. It'll probably come tomorrow. Can you tell me when your temps rise this cycle as I will clearly be just about to ovulate.

Have ordered The Guide to PCOS book. I just want to have normal cycles.

decafgirl · 08/06/2010 12:33

Ah digi, I'm so sorry hon. It's such a nightmare isn't it? I really feel your pain. Have you thought about reflexology or acupuncture? That's my next port of call I think. My dinner lady (FFS!) has just announced she's 5 weeks pg with her 7th child...

I too, just want to have normal cycles xxxx

digitalgirl · 08/06/2010 12:38

Seven?!

Have you had reflexology before? I might look it up. Can you recommend anyone in north london?

decafgirl · 08/06/2010 12:47

Yep, 7. Her sister is also pg with twins. They'll be children 7 & 8 I think!

Sorry pet, hippy is trying to find a reflexologist in Newcastle for me but I'm sure there'll be someone along who knows North London

digitalgirl · 08/06/2010 14:16

Right, acupuncture consultation booked for Thursday. Operation: Get Pregnant No Matter What it Costs has begun.

decafgirl · 08/06/2010 15:51

Ooh, please tell me all about it when you've been

I'm of the opinion that it might not do anything but it won't do any harm...It feels good to be pro-active though doesn't it?

xxx

digitalgirl · 08/06/2010 16:01

decaf will do

Orchid I gave up breastfeeding in December but also still the tiniest drops if i give my nipples a squeeze. I'd like to take Agnus Castus to regulate my cycles too...do I need to get someone to recommend me a doseage?

8rubberduckies · 08/06/2010 16:14

Hi all I've heard that you should not take Agnus Castus if you have PCOS cos it may do more harm than good, does anyone know anything about this? Hopefully it's not true, cos I'd like to give it a go, but don't have enough cash to consult a herbalist, and don't want to take it without proper consultation just in case I make things worse for myself!!!

Please let us know how it goes with the acupuncture, I would love to know digitalgirl. I had acupuncture when I was overdue with ds1 to force the lazy little bugger out bring on labour, but either he was particularly stubborn or it just did not push the right buttons for me, as ended up being induced. I did find it very invigorating and balancing though; had a spring in my step for oooooh, all of about 30 seconds after each session, which I reckon is the most you can expect from a woman at 40+ weeks in August

Miffles · 08/06/2010 17:12

I've not heard anything negative about Angus Castus at all. Loads of the websites about PCOS highly recommend it. I don't know what bad things it could do... However, will ask the doc when I speak to him in the next week or two. I'm taking the tincture - drops in water as this is meant to be more easily absorbed and more effective. I take 1ml 2x daily, which is equivalent to 500mg (x2) of the dried herb. Only been on it a week, so no effect yet, but it certainly helps to be doing something pro-active.

8rubberduckies · 08/06/2010 17:29

Thanks miffles I've only heard it from one source, actuallly someone posting on here on a different thread, so will have a little nose around the net and see what others say. Let me know what your doctor says as well...

ljg72 · 08/06/2010 18:27

Hello!
Can I hop on please?...had MC 21st May, and hoping ttc asap!...looks like the thread for meeee! .
Not very good with the lingo (or spelling) but trying to get my head around all the codes!.
No idea where I am on cycle?? not sure how it works after mc? anybody? but did stop bleeding within a week, so have been BD'ing most eve/morns...lucky me .
Hello, and good luck to all...X

Miffles · 08/06/2010 19:26

Welcome ljg. I'm sorry to hear about your mc - actually was on another thread when you got your bfp and then the mc. so really feel for you But good to hear you're now back in the game and hooe you enjoy your SWI!!

ooo..another update on angus (it sounds like someones uncle!) - apparently you're really not meant to take it when you're pg. So it's been suggested that after you ovulate you don't take it - only first half of your cycle. I'm sticking with it, though, as ovulating would be a fine thing!!

babybumpplease · 08/06/2010 21:18

hope its not too crowded for me to squeeze on in!

was positive i was going to be in the feb bus...had all sorts of symptoms, but have 2 BFN's!

but af (well what i think is my af, its all very confusing) came eventually, 5days late!

had light to medium flow yesterday (7th) and have had very very limited flow throughout today, which has since stopped. also had af like cramps during that time...so im not too sure what's going on!

any thoughts?!

going to jump straight back in the game though...so fingers crossed for lots of BFP's
