Am I pregnant? Supermarket brand pregnancy test

Currently BF'ing DD (9m), AF's returned last month. We've been TTC. My AF were due on Thursday so decided to take a test yesterday.

I used a Sainsburys own brand test and at first, one dark purple line appeared on the right side and then after a minute a faded pink line appeared on the left, it got a little darker but not that much, still a little faded.

I wasn't too sure so took another test this morning and the results were the same.

Now I wish I'd just bought a digital test, so I'd know for sure.

Has anyone used these tests before? What do you think?

All tests are different. What do the instructions say? Presumably, it will tell you to look for a line in a certain area of the test, appearing within a certain time.

If a line appeared in that time, you're pregnant. If it didn't you aren't.

I assume the dark line was a control line?

It'll be in the instructions.

If the line appeared within the time limit and you don't have to squint/use a microscope/take the test apart to see it, then I think you can count on that being a positive!

I've used sainsbury's tests in the past and found them to be reliable.

i used sainsburys ones with all mine and consider them to be accurate

after i had a miscarriage and was ttc no 2 i had a very faint line...and yes i was positive!

ShowOfHands, the instructions say if two red-purple lines appear, one is called the C (conjour?) line and the other a T (test) line. The C line was a dark purple one but the T line was a faded pink.

in my opinion that does sound like a positive. If you buy another test tomorrow the result should be clearer.

If I go to the GP, can they confirm it?

GPs don't really confirm as home pregnancy tests are as reliable as their tests.

The test line is nearly always lighter than the control line. Often much lighter.

But if you're pg, you're producing hcg. If you're producing hcg, it will produce a line on the test in a certain time. If the line is there you're pregnant.

I don't think a GP would confirm it, as the blood test takes a few days and costs money. GPs usually just tell you to use a pregnancy test! They are very reliable, as long as the line appears within the allotted time, then it's near impossible to get a false negative.

Just a quickie to say, don't expect your regular cycle to return immediately. Mine were all over the place once they returned while I was still bfing
