How soon for baby number 2 after caesarean?

I had a caesarean in October and was advised by the hospital to wait at least 2 years before even getting pregnant again, never mind giving birth, my body has to heal apparently. I was going to plan (mother nature obliging!) to have another child sooner, maybe gettting pregnant this year?

Has anyone else had similar/conflicting advise?

you need to test and find out for sure , a lot of women do have small gaps between children, 12 - 18 months is ideal, but a lot of women have smaller gaps without a problem

find out first if you are pregnant and take it from there

I have 2 children. Emergency section with first and 18mths later elective section with second. It wasn't a prob at all.

I have just 13 months between my two ds and they were both c sections. So fell pregnant with second ds when first was 4 months (I think I have worked that out right1) I had no probs what so ever, tried a natural birth the second time around but got stuck again. If I have any more (which I hope I do!) will be c sections again.

And two close together is fab. They are 1 and 2 now and play together and laugh together, I wouldn't change it for the world. The first year was hard, like torture sometimes and I'm not joking! But now they are so great together. Go for it!

i had a cs in feb 2009. got pregnant again by God's grace in july 09. and gave birth in march 2010. i am pregnant again ths month nov 2010, so good luck to u darlyn and dont wait too long. husky11

I asked at my 6 week check how long I should wait and he said "why would you have to wait?" . Been trying over a year now so its not an issue for me .

I was also told at my six week check that it was fine to start trying again.

depends I had emergency c-section at 41 told my Gp we would likke another child he said start trying immediately the sooner the better DD almost 1 now but have not conceived but he did not think it would be a problem
