DH and I are about to start TTC and I came off the pill 8 days ago. Since then I've been on/off incredibly nauseous and constantly tired. Thing is, the nausea is utterly overwhelming for a couple of hours, and then goes away and I feel normal for a bit, then it comes back.

There's a limit to how long you can claim "I might have a bug", and it's a fairly unconvincing bug if it keeps going off duty for a few hours!

So far my boss has been most perplexed and keeps asking if I'm ok, my colleague said "you're not pregnant are you?"

Stayed with my parents on Friday night and kept having to go and sit next to the toilet, cue their curious faces, because I'm clearly not ill.

Then this morning at church the vicar's wife who knew I felt really rough asked "is this a semi-permanent state?" with a hopeful smile...

I AM JUST SICK BECAUSE MY HORMONES ARE TEMPORARILY B*GGERED, I AM NOT PG!

Obviously I don't want to tell people that I'm feeling bad because I've just come off the pill and things are settling down, because I don't want them all knowing we are going to TTC.

Tell me it's happened to you to??

I went to the chemist to buy something or other for DD, in a lovely new dress, feeling on top of the world. The chemist told me the medicine wasn't suitable for babies under six months (DD was about 2) when I gave her a puzzled look she said "you know, for your new baby. When are you due anyway?"

I WAS MORTIFIED

I am ButterPie. You poor thing!

Please tell me you ignored the mad old bat and wore your dress again? When will people learn to just wait and see and not be so rude!

when ds2 was a few days old we had to go back into hospital
at one point i wasn't well and had to be escorted across the hospital, via wheelchair, minus ds2
by the way i had this VAST postnatal belly
a young porter came to help me and started chatting in a friendly way
he said 'so when is your baby due?'
i said 'er....he's a week old, he's in the children's ward'

there was this immense pause which was filled with the sound of him thinking "well what the RUDDY NORA is that in your belly then????"
he was only about 19
i didn't know how to tell him so we jsut carried on in silence

In work canteen when I was neither recently pregnant nor wanting to be, girl serving asked me when I was due and said I was looking well. I told her I wasn't pregnant to which she replied "Are you sure???"
