V faint line 1st month after mc - surely not?

Had v early mc (4+3) on Jan 1.

My cycle's normally 27/28 days, so when nothing happened by Thurs (CD28 if 1st day of mc was start of cycle) I tested w ebay cheapie. Nothing.

Tested this morning with FMU and a CB (not digi) and got faintest line - even DH saw it, although only just.

It can't be, though, can it? I collected the FMU in a washed out moisturiser pot (couldn't find the test, was 4am or so), is there anything in a Lush face cream that could make a pos?

And even if it's a real one - I thought I ov'd around day 14 (had EWCM, pain in right area) so shouldn't the line be stronger? Am dreading another chemical preg.

Is 'orrible - don't know whether to be pleased or petrified or what...

No AF yet, but had cramps and slightly sore norks. This is v little help because I get that before I'm pg, too.

Tested this afternoon (after drinking lots of tea) with eBay cheapie and got BFN.

Should just give up hope now, I know. But is it worth trying a CB test tomorrow or something? Would an ebay cheapie be reliable on the day AF due, but mid-afternoon?

Stillfrazzled - happy birthday and congratulations on your bfp. Don't worry about the faintness of any lines, even if you did ovulate on cd14 you may not have implanted til 11 days later and thus the hcg only just starting..... Just sit back put your feet up and relax, you are pregnant and it is your birthday, time to just enjoy your day

Thanks again everyone, just checking in before I start getting ready to go out tonight. When I am, of course, the designated driver...

MrsTriangle, post when you've tested again and update us?

Congratulations and happy birthday!

MrsTriangle · 31/01/2010 20:05

Well, I've just restested using a Clear Blue Plus test (not digital) and it's BFN. cd29

It's all so strange though. I've had cramps on and off for a week or so and that's just so unlike me unless I'm pregnant.

stillfrazzled · 01/02/2010 10:22

Damn, sorry. Mind you, on CD 30 with the same test I got a very faint line. How long's your cycle as a rule?

Congratulations OP!

Can I ask a question about these ebay tests? Does it count as BFP is the line is about half the strength of the control line?

I'm staring at a line here, can hardly process it. The line is clearly visible, can be seen from other side of the desk. But is not nearly as dark as the control line.

Anybody?

I'm not really too hot with my dates etc but think roughly 2 days 'late'.

stillfrazzled · 01/02/2010 13:47

AFAIK, if you can see any line at all, it's a BFP.

Congratulations back to you!

Thanks and er, oh fuck!

idealcamel · 01/02/2010 14:55

Hey Morris! We met ages ago on the 30s TTC thread. Just wanted to say congratulations on the BFP. As you were.

stillfrazzled · 01/02/2010 15:24

Not entirely expected, then, Morris?

Hiya idealcamel!

Yes it is moi. Thanks so much for your congratulations! I'm 38 and had been ttc for about a year so I don't know why I'm acting surprised.

I'm in shock really! It's good news, really it is, it's just..............

it's just.............

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!

I'll pop over and tell the BESH lot >>

MrsTriangle · 01/02/2010 20:08

Congratulations Morris!

This is so wierd - just tested again day 30 and still BFN. Tesco's own brand cheapy though - how sensitive are they?

My cycle is usually 28 days but at the beginning of last year it could be anything up to 35 days....

I hope it's not an ectopic or anything boring like that. I know you can have BFNs or BFPs with those.

Sukie1971 · 02/02/2010 04:20

Congrats stillfrazzled am very very glad to be wrong!

Congrats Morris

My very best wishes to you both

stillfrazzled · 02/02/2010 15:07

MrsT, I had a BFN/faint line when you squint enough 24 hours before the FR strong positive.

OTOH I know lots of posters speak v highly of them. Sorry this is so frustrating for you.

ah well, AF arrived today so at least i know what's going on!

DH has lots of work travel around next ovulation time - typical!

stillfrazzled · 03/02/2010 14:46

Damn, I'm sorry. Hope your DH is home for at least SOME of the right moments this month...
