Anyone missed 4 or more periods and not been pregnant?

If so do you know why you missed so many periods?

I haven't had a period since August. I came off the pill in September and I had a bleed in September which lasted about 4 hours if that. I also had one in October which lasted about 2 hours absolute maximum which was after sex.

I did a test in November and I've just done another but both were negative.

a trip to the doctor is in order i think!

this happened to me when i came off the pill after taking it for 5 years. had a couple of very light periods (although not as light as your describe) and then nothing. turned out i have both hypothyroidism and pcos.

i think you need to go to dr to discuss...

(the hypothroidism when diagnosed was borderline ie normal is TSH up to 4.5 and mine was 5) and the pcos was so mild it didn't get picked up by blood test only by internal scan - but i guess the combination of both alongside taking the pill for so long disrupted my cycles.

yes, twice, once at an incredibly stressful time and once due to being underweight. that said, sounds with yours that its more about having come off the pill. there are lots of different causes though, it is worth a chat with your gp but they may well tell you there is nothing to worry about at all and it is just a matter of giving it time
