4ever the discharge is normal, it's all due to hormones. Think the lump is normal, but just ring the midwife to check, that's what they're there for

OP posts:
MummyLovesSadie · 13/01/2010 19:32

4ever yes discharge is normal. When pregnant with dd I had to wear liners all the time.

Vjay lol at your image of dangly magnets! They look like this. That's obviously not me in the photo as she has no grey hair! Yum fahitas, love em.

bluesatinsash · 13/01/2010 19:54

Another liner wearer here - lots of discharge during both pgs, just hormones (gawd, what isn't!). You will get used to your new routine 4ever - just one step/day at a time..

MLS - you with grey hair ? Noooo...
. Don't know how much I have now as have been dying it for 4 years .

Vjay - I do remember it getting easier when DS1 hit 3 months. Its tricky as I want to savour Benjamin's curled up like a comma newborn stage but I'm just so so tired

Barbie - had a wee lump thinking of you standing in the nursery .

Neeko - how's that list shaping up? got it laminated yet?

mermaid - glad to read your cycle's back to normal (but too) and your seeing doc about fibroids...

Better go, DS1 needs his stories

later xx

p.s. cupcakesnowedininwales - spill the beans - what is the song?!

MrsKate · 13/01/2010 20:00

wow 4ever 20 weeks

iggypiggy · 14/01/2010 10:11

Hi lovelies

I have a cold - which is rubbish - and prob the main cause of the headaches... but the sicky feeling is fine - am not complaining, is oddly reassuring...

mermaid must be a relief that AF turned up fast. Good luck with fibroids. Still thinking about you muchly. x

4ever 20 weeks already! Is halfway!

MLS you sound v. positive - I love the snow too, but London is rubbish for snow! Cooling strips sound perfect... exactly what I need - going to go to supermarket at lunchtime.

neeko I do like a list

Big waves to all - gonna catch up properly soon xxxx

VJay · 14/01/2010 11:32

mls thanks for clearing that up for me now, I can now 'see' you with those nice neat magnets, not whopping great dangly ones , my imagination alsways runs away with me

blue It does get easier after 3 months. I look back now at ds1 and wish I'd spent less time worrying and loking at the baby manual and more time enjoying him so small, but hindsight is such a wonderful thing isn't it. Also dh got down and back ok the other da. A section of the A9 shut just after he drove it due to an avalanche (sp?) , but they had cleared it by the time he came back up.

iggy boo hiss to your rubsh cold.

Have booked a weekend away to Edinburgh for my birthday in March. I can't wait, the boys are coming too, can't leave them behind . Ajay will be 6 months old by then so hopefully able to sit up in a highchair. Think we might stop at the Falkirk wheel on the way home too, that will be the boys treat.
The snow is finally thawing and it's been raining again today, yay

iggypiggy · 14/01/2010 11:35

vjay I love Edinburgh - I lived there for a year... is my favourite city... In fact I love Scotland in general - had my honeymoon near Loch Ness

VJay · 14/01/2010 11:42

hi iggy we went to Edinburgh last year for my birthday and really enjoyed it, I was 16 weeks pg then, wow what a difference a year makes! We honeymooned near Loch Ness too, it was fab, I was 9 weeks pg then with ds1 and had a lovely time, now we live up here, Loch Ness is about half an hours drive away

OP posts:
iggypiggy · 14/01/2010 11:48

I am very - I'd love to live around there! We are thinking of trying Skye for our next holiday... Also want to go back to the cottage we stayed in for the honeymoon as it was amazing - had views over loch ness and I took the dog down to the waters edge from outside the cottage each morning so he could swim/ monster hunt

VJay · 14/01/2010 11:54

oh you are bringing it all back to me, we took our dog too, it was so nice. We went out to Skye for the day aswell. You should go and book a hol for Skye it will be lovely

OP posts:
iggypiggy · 14/01/2010 12:03

Will do I reckon My favourite dog walk was Glen Affric - we were out for about 6 hrs - saw no-one!

Neeko · 14/01/2010 12:22

Yay- loving all the Bonnie Scotland talk. I live in Burns' country so if you're ever that way the wine will be chilling kettle will be on at my house!

Iggy Have you tried 4head? I love it for headaches when pg or otherwise. I love a list too but enjoy ticking things off much more.

Vjay The weekend sounds great. Where are you staying? With any luck I'll go early and be a mum of two by then!

Mrskate Glad it's not just me. A lot of our stuff is up the loft from DD and will be easy to sort if once we get the decorating done.

Blue won't be laminating the list (though I have all the equipment ) as then I couldn't tick things off which is my favourite part! Please do savour every moment with Ben. i think I spent too long proving I was coping with everything with DD - house, baby, feeding, shopping, visitors...- when i should have been sitting on the couch whiling away the hours at how perfect her fingernails were. That's what her nursery time is for this time though, right?

4ever I went in a panic to MLS with the exact same thing a few months back. Another liner girl here. Found myself fantasising the other day about what it would be like to wear liner free knickers again!

MLS Don't think I haven't noticed those sneaky little superstitions creeping back in. What happened to Mrs I-just-have-to-accept-what-happens-is-out-of-my-control? I likethe superstitious you better!

Neeko · 14/01/2010 12:25

Oh and MLS definitely not pink stuff as guaranteed she'd decide she didn't like it within 6 months. Think we're going for light oak as that's what I want and I'm not above playing the hormonal pg woman to get it!!

Jools are you ok?

Gracie You've gone all quiet. Is anything happening?

Barbie Hope you're enjoying stretching out in the spacious new villa and not cursing the extra cleaning.

littlebellsmum · 14/01/2010 13:29

V quick post as I'm supposed to be at work and have spent all morning at hospitals!
Just had my scan and it appears that it may be littlebellgirl - which means that we only need to appease DS, not DD. Everything is lovely and got loads of time to look at her as she wouldn't pose for the scanner

It also appears that she might be making an appearance at 38 weeks as being an "older" mother , I had to see the consultant this morning who told me that they normally like to deliver babies of mums over 38 at 38 weeks as the baby is ready to be born and it can prevent any risk of complications if it goes to 40 weeks. He was talking about a sweep or induction to get things moving - a sweep would be fine but I'm not convinced about induction. It of course may not be an issue as DS arrived at 37 weeks anyway. If any one has any experience or knowledge of this, please share!

Other than that, please tell me more about Edinburgh - we are coming up at half term for a few days with the DC's and want ideas of things to do with them. I need to book the sleeper tomorrow - DC's are very excited about that idea - sleeping on the train!

Finally barbie got a lump in my throat of you looking round your nursery and thinking of your LO in the cot. One enduring memory of when we brought dd home from hospital was DH taking her round the house and showing her her bedroom etc - all very lovely

Back later - love to all

4everhopeful · 14/01/2010 14:04

Oooh Congrats on a pink littlebellgirl lbm!!!! How lovely and glad you got to have a good look at her too! I was wondering when your scan was this morning!
Early is good! At least you get to meet her sooner! I wouldnt complain at that!

Ahh Iggy and Vjay you are making me reminisce with talk of Edinburgh! I spent several summer hols with my mum & dad there for the Fringe comedy festival, just remember busy streets & theathre shows, I was only ikkle! It was fab, stayed with their friends looking over Holyrood & the castle, beautiful city!

BTW - when in March is yor birthday Vjay? Mine is the 4th!

Iggy hope this cold doesnt knock you too bad, its such a belter if its the same one I had over christmas!

Monkey hope you are recovering from it now too?

Neeko didnt realise you were a scottish lassie too! Yes Im all neutral for the so far still 'spare room' figure can just add splashes of pink here & there as required! Glad to hear am not alone with that little 'ahem' problem!

Cupcake I didnt even think about you possibly being snowed in in lush Wales yesterday! Hope you are ok and back is not playing up too bad!? Im debating a ball thing to bounce on soon as well! I also want to know your anthem too!?

Yes, also wondering about Gracie?!?

Waves to Mermaid if you are lurking lovely!

MLS at your magnet earrings! I also imagined Pat Butcheresqe U shaped magnets!

Happy housewarming Barbie! Dont know if you are officially 'moved in' yet though?

Im doing another sneaky draft post on e-mail to make look like Im working at desk !!! Sly The snow was just too bad to drive in yesterday so stayed in bed til 2.30pm! Was already turning into bit of a grouch from lack of sleep/new routine! So - got here at 9.30am, leaving at 2pm. No work at all tomorrow as I've got my scan booked for 1pm, I just knew Id need some reassurance after coming back to work! Hours not been too bad for my first week back! Oh, news though, my poor managers mum died this morning, feel so bad for moaning about her now when she obviously just had such worries on her plate.. Another case of dont judge a book & be grateful for what we got I guess... xxxxx

barbie1 · 14/01/2010 14:50

moving house + 35 weeks pregnant = pure exhustion.....

Villa looking good, im looking not so good

To tired to do anything, will post tomorrow...thinking of you all...

VJay · 14/01/2010 16:22

4ever my fellow pisces, mine is the 14th

lbm a girl how lovely. As for Edinburgh, last time I shopped and shopped and shopped, poor dh and ds1. This time we are going to go to the castle, walk along the Royal mile, go to Dynamic Earth and if time go to the zoo, but doubt we'll have time for that, will save that for next year.

barbie relax, look forward for an update from you tomorrow

OP posts:
VJay · 14/01/2010 16:24

neeko we are staying in a premier inn, last year we stayed in the Haymarket one which was perfect for location but this year it's fuuly booked on the Friday, so have booked into the South Queensfeery one and will either bus or train into the city.

OP posts:
bluesatinsash · 14/01/2010 16:26

ooh LBM - another pink one for you - lovely .

Barbie - well done you! Hope you are restng up and spending the next 5 weeks pottering round the nursery .

Loving all the yay! to Scotland talk . I'm only 25 miles from Edinburgh, know it well, used to work there, sisters live there, spent MANY a drunken night out there chasing boys . LBM - there is lots for children to do - Dymanic Earth, Botantical Gardens, Princes Street Gardens, Harvey Nicks for lunch . Vjay - great to hear you're visiting the Falkirk Wheel. Hopefuly the weather will be kind come April. You're more than welcome to come to us for lunch when you're down . glad your DH made it down and back too.

4ever - about the sleep til 2.30pm... news about your Boss's Mum, life is just so precious.

Iggy - how many weeks are you now?!

Neeko - I've had a 'savouring Ben' day. He didn't really sleep after his first two feeds today so when he eventually dropped off I just had him in my lap staring at him and snoozing with him - lovely.

We were all set to go to Mothercare in Edinburgh but its been snowing again here - WTF?!!

iggypiggy · 14/01/2010 16:47

blue I am 13 weeks now - which is scary...

VJay · 14/01/2010 17:01

blue it's a toss up between the zoo or the wheel, but can't wait , thanks for the offer for lunch , we keep that in mind . Can't believe you've had more snow, it's really melting now up here, hope it continues.

iggy 13 weeks has gone very quick, you'll be joining the big panters soon?

OP posts:
iggypiggy · 14/01/2010 17:02

I guess... but I want to wear Barbie's chicken suit for a while... I got my next scan at 17 weeks... that would be waiting too long would it?

VJay · 14/01/2010 17:03

will keep that in mind!!!!! my spelling on here today has been crap.

Have any of you been on the 10 out of 10 thread, I have been laughing my head off over some of them, check it out in 'discussions of the day'. I'm not neglecting my ds's, honest

OP posts:
Neeko · 14/01/2010 20:27

Hi

LBM so pleased to hear of your good scan and another girl. I'm quite of your DD actually because i always wanted a sister

Iggy stay in medium pants until you're ready. I was in the chicken suit until week 16. There's no rush- it won't make you less pregnant either way

I totally vote for Edinburgh zoo Vjay and LBM. It's fab, especially the new chimp house. It's very hilly though so take the wee train to the top and walk back down. The Edinburgh Dungeon is pretty good too if your DC aren't too easily frightened as is the ghost walk.

Barbie post some pics of the nursery please.

4ever good luck for tomorrow's scan. You seem a lot less wobbly. Maybe work has been a good thing. about your manager's mum though, but you know about grief (sadly) and will be able to support her.

Blue your savourin day sounds lovely and so worth the sleep deprivation. Did you see the new series of Grey's starts a week tonight. I'm so excited! And to make it better, our predictions about ourselves when it started have come true

I'm having lots and lots of Braxton Hicks and am feeling really uncomfortable. They even woke me several times last night. It has made me half pack a labour bag though so at least that's something. My physio appt came through today for Monday afternoon - hope he/she has a magic wand!

Joolsiam · 14/01/2010 20:28

Sorry for disappearing - off sick with this cold / virus thingie and got immersed in the Twilight books !

Loving the Scotland talk too - we were there just after we got engaged - Easter 99 and drove from Edinburgh up to Oban, across to Mull (which I loved), then back via Stirling. I've always wanted to go back

I was doing fine till a delivery driver asked to leave a package for a neighbour - I'm now sitting in my front room, looking at a package for a cot, cot mattress and another parcel from Blooming Marvellous - talk about kicking a girl when she is down
