gah! It's very unlikely I'm pregnant - come slap some sense into me

I'm on CD30. My last cycle was 26 days and I've very rarely had a cycle longer than 28 days. I only had my coil taken out a couple of weeks ago, though in the middle of my fertile window.

I don't feel pregnant, but I don't feel pre-menstrual either. I've taken two cheapy ebay tests (not first thing in the morning) and both say negative.

Sensibly, I know I'm probably not pregnant, and two days late isn't something to get too excited about, but, you know how it is.

Come on, tell me it's unlikely, and to just wait a couple of days for my period to arrive.

could taking the coil out mess up your cycle a bit?

The other thing was that I was a bit ill around normal ovulation time - I think tonsillitis, had a fever at least. Would that have an effect?

I'm two days late too but haven't taken a test as I know I'm not pregnant, just very wishful thinking on my part, (I even started a thread on baby names yesterday so I definately need some sense slapped into me! )

Being ill can delay ovulation and as your time after ovulation remains constant maybe you are having a long cycle. If you start temping you can see when you ovulate.

ok, thanks everyone. Feeling less tempted to go out and buy an expensive digital test.

Going out to celebrate DH's birthday on the weekend, so the upside if I'm not pregnant is that I get to have a few drinks then
