New to TTC and was wondering what type of pregnancy tests to use?

Hi All

Still relatively new to MN and TTC, but have noticed lots of references to the pros and cons of different pregnancy tests in the threads on here. Had a quick look in Boots yesterday and ended up totally confused (and shocked at the price!). Some also had different advice about when you could test from too. Any advice would be appreciated!! Thanks.

Pound shop/Home Bargains/ebay cheapies are fine.

this US site is useful on when to test

I would go for ebay cheapies or home health
Supermarket own brand are usually much cheaper than first response or clearblue

Hi, WYG, miss period, then test - and you will get a reliable result with pretty much any test.
A lot of the discussion about pros and cons of different (v expensive) tests is from people keen to test before they have missed a period. I can be v impatient too, but IMO there madness lies...
Good luck!

Thanks very much, maize, QuietlyTTC and *PacificDogwood"! It's a minefield out in this TTC world! Wouldn't have known any of this unless you'd told me and could have wasted a fortune!
