withdrawel.How many folk have ended up preggers from this?

It would not be the end of the world if i was pregnant but we used this method for a few years and everything was fine.

Then when trying to concieve my third child it took four years.

We have been using the withdrawel method again and my AF is about a week late.

Anyone else??? BTW he has never cum anywere near me always a good few minutes afterwards.

I am taking great warmth in the lack of posters means it would be very unsual,so i am going to stop my constant knicker checking and convince myself that i have got my dates mixed up.

it is not unusual .

not at all

bear in mind whether he ejaculates inside you or not, some sperm will leak out before then.

i would do a test, you are basically having unprotected sex

especially if you are not using any other natural family planning methods

I got pregnant after using the withdrawl method for 3 months.And DP always pulled out way in time.I guess it was the dribblers....!We were both shocked!

We used withdrawal for 7 years and actually thought that me not getting pg meant we might have fertility problems down the line. When I went to the nurse for my smear I mentioned it and she told me that withdrawal is actually a very reliable method for most people but that you should only use it if you have a regular partner and if it really isn't the end of the world if you do fall pg.

i used this method with a previous boyfriend, before my current partner (DH) and to be honest, we never had any scares at all. Although he did suffer from retarded ejaculation so that would sort of guarantee that there was no chance of an 'accident'

Aged just 16, only used this method a handful of times too, not reliable in the slightest!

Hi I've been reading a book about this method of contraception and it is possible but only if you are at your most fertile time. If you know your cycle extremely well and you know when you are about to ovulate then you will have a better idea as to whether you will be BFP.

The book is called Taking charge of your fertility and it explains that this is a very good method of contraception as long as you know your cycle

I fell pregnant with DD2 AND DD3 after practicing the withdrawal method. DD1 was born via IVF and both DH and I were told we were 100% infertile so if we can get pregnant by withdrawing, ANYONE CAN!

I got pg with DD using withdrawal, we only saw each other at weekends so sex was pretty irregular.

It took 2 and a half years of planning to get pg with DS !

I think I must be quite odd as seem to have experienced the opposite from everyone else on this thread. We used withdrawal for about 2 years with the 'It wouldn't be a disaster if I got pg' mentality. Then decided we'd like to have a family and as soon as we started trying I was pregnant - with twins!!

I took a cheapy 2 for £1 test and it was negative! Not sure how reliable they are as i have never used them before.

Very strange,i am now on day 40 i think since my LMP.

I am starting to doubt those cheap tests,was so sure that i was starting my period this morning (you know that feeling ie damp)yet no sign.

I am feeling very sick as well,mentioned it in a "i don't really think i am" way to dh last night,he laughed. Although i know he won't take it on board until i get a positive test.

Anyone else had negatives on cheapy tests when they were pregnant?

This is driving me mad,working in an hour so will buy a decent test tommorow.

Had BFN's on cheapy tests from Ebay, but am 9 days late, and am NEVER this late, I too would LOVE to hear from ppl who were pregnant ith negatives on a cheap test

I too thought my period was gonna come, Sat and yest, but NOTHING, I am putting DS in buggy and going to asda shortly for a test

Yes i have skybright!! my ebay ones were neg but did a fr and it was very strong pos, i don't think they are very good tests!!
Pme why are you not at asda yet!!!

I've had 2 BFNs on 2 for £1 tests now and period is 2 days late now and this is never the case.

We are TTC so ahd sex at the right time although I am not so sure I ovulated this month I have only had one period since DD3 was born and she is still BFing twice a day

I have used this method for 15 years ( with a little gap for a persona machine) and fell pregnant once, either I am not very fertile or he is ver careful.

And the one time I did fall pregnant I had sex at a time I was likely to concieve so to be honest I was not surprised.

I work in sexual health. BTW Precum shouldn't contain any sperm unless the man has ejaculated a few hours before. (I think if more than 24hours before you are fine).

The withdrawal method has recently been found to be 98% effective as a method of contraception (same as condoms) but the key is in the withdrawal in advance of ejaculation not during ejaculation! Many family planning nurses don't advocate this as a method because it does require strong will and determination on the part of the man!(but also because many people think its a lot less reliable than it actually is)

It's a method we are probably going to use after this baby is born as we currently use FAM but will be trickier when breastfeeding and erratic post pregnancy cycles.

I fell pregnant using the withdrawal method. We used it between the coil and going on the pill, ended up being a few months and though we'd be fine...

Just saying it is possible.
