Can anyone advise me on the results of my day 3 tests

Hi I had my progesterone level checked on day 21 and it was 1 which is obviously not good. Thyroid level was within the normal range.

I have just had my day 3 test back and my LH level is 4.3 and FSH level 4.9. I think this is good but I am unsure why my progesterone level is so low when everything else appears to be normal.

I have always had very irregular periods.

TIA

Hi forever

have you had other hormone tests, e.g. testosterone/free androgens, or a recent ultrasound scan?

Are you having trouble TTC?

low day 21 test and irregular cycles sounds like an ovulation problem

As far as I know, your day 3 results are excellent - LH and FSH should be around the same and low at that time. I'm just waiting anxiously to get mine done, I have PCOS.

Were you offered any follow up though? Sounds like more investigations are needed to get to the bottom of the low progesterone and irregular cycles

levels that close together for FSh and LH, plus the low progesterone, which indicates you didn't ovulate, could indicate PCOS. Did yu have other test done? They should not have tested your FSH without testing estrogen - what was that? And did they test thyroid? I'm afraid this set doesn't give you a complete answer, you will need an ultrasound at a minimum to see what's going on.

Thanks everyone I have appt at fertility clinic shortly. They didn't test estrogen because I didn't ask them to. I have been researching on internet but did not realise that was required. My GP has told me that fertility is not really their area, they were not even aware that a progesterone level of 1 was low!
