Am vowing not to do this but cannot resist anymore and feel sure if I post my story then at least my period will arrive tomorrow
BD Day 14 (had had 4 days in room with DCs so no chance prior to this) >nil since. Me ill first , then DH
Normally ovulate D13 or 14 but once ovulated D16 (so normally use HPTs and temp)
Cycle 28-32 days , most commonly 30 days and once 35 days.
Am now D34 and negative cheap stick today.
I know I am most likely not pregnant and I don't feel pregnant, just the normal sore boobs.
But am allowing myself to think, well you might be....
Come and tell me I'm not, the most likely thing is a long cycle this time before I explode.
(or tell me some lovely positive stories of late BFPs after BFNs) [quiet voice emotion}
Can't tell DH, he thinks I'm a crazy lady already

Being ill can delay ovulation and make your cycle longer.

Do you know which day you ovulated on this month?

DarrellRivers · 18/04/2009 17:32

Not able to do OPK/temps this month due to the holiday so not sure day of ovulation
Of course, was ill about D12-15
That must have much delayed my day of ovulation
So probably am not pregnant because did not do the deed later on that week
Oh well
Roll on next month

How long is your luteal phase normally?

DarrellRivers · 18/04/2009 17:45

16-17 days

So most probably you bd day 14 which is most likely either the day before or the day of your ovulation. You are now on day 34 of a cycle which is usually 28 - 32 days...URM.... call me crazy but it sounds a bit like you could be pg? I'm assuming you aren't temping so you don't know if your temp has gone up.

How cheap is a 'cheap' stick, are we talking Tescos own or one of those 30000 for a fiver from ebay sticks?

What sort of 'ill' were you, being ill doesn't necc. delay your ovulation.

I have EVERYTHING crossed for you.

KirstyandPhilsLoveChild · 18/04/2009 17:48

hmm - with 16-17 days I would say that if nothing happens tomorrow, test first thing monday morning (if you can wait that long...)

DarrellRivers · 18/04/2009 17:50

It is odd, before I temped I thought a luteal phase was always 14 d, but the first month I temped, I had a luteal phase of 10 d, but I reckon that was more me getting the hang of temping.
I think I am fairly irregular all round, but over the last year have had more cycles lasting 30 days , and more often than not a CD14 as ovulation

Oh you lot are sweet.
Cheapy test as in 2 for 99p strips from savers
Have pushed the boat out this afternoon and bought some superdrug early tests
Will try to hold out until monday as am sure am wasting valuable tests as feel so normal
I was ill but able to get around Disneyland paris for one day, the next catch the coach/plane home and put the moves on DH.
Ah, the joys of multitasking, TTC and children

Well it doesn't sound like you were that ill . I'm still crossing everything (damned uncomfortable I can tell you). Try to hold until mon before cracking open those tests, hopefully it will a big shiny positive but if it's negative (boo hiss) you'll feel more confident in believing it.

DarrellRivers · 18/04/2009 20:41

Thankyou for crossing everything, and it was good to share.
Have confessed all to DH and he didn't seem to think it was all too crazy
Just wait and see , and I'll let you know when my period comes tomorrow

mawbroon · 19/04/2009 22:22

LOL, you're so impatient! She said Monday

DarrellRivers · 20/04/2009 08:56

I think my period is coming today.
Not yet crampy feeling but a few spots.
Feeling not so gutted this time, as the negative test does prepare you!
Feeling upbeat for the next few months, nice sunny weather always helps

Maws - I said I wasn't patient!

Darrell - sorry to hear that it sounds like you have a fab attitude though, good luck for next month
