Help my clinic has sprung blastocyst culture on me and I cannot open any of the docs sent to me

Does anybody know the success rates for blastocyst culture over 3 day transfer for 39 year old, in general. I am a bit upset with my clinic, as they had the opportunity to discuss this with me and didn't so I am supposed to make a decision without any information.

Hi Soosy, I remember you from AC thread. I'm 37 and my doc told me chances were 40-50% for 3-day transfer and 70% for blast, but he did say that the risk of going for blast is the possibility of nothing to put back if they don't make it beyond 3 days. If you let me know your e-mail address (if you don't want to put it on here, are you on FF? If so, PM me - same username, you can find me on the Nottinghamshire 'Anyone at NURTURE' thread) and I'll see if can open those docs for you.

Thanks for your post Issy, I got 21 eggs 14 fertilised 1 abnormally, 6 were too immature. I usually get to 3 day with 2 or more good embryos so it really is whether they will make the extra two days. I am not on FF and don't really want to post email here as I don't want to out myself. I am trying to get hold of a friend locally to print off docs. It includes consent forms so I can't even go for blastocysts unless I can get hold of them. It's because I have a mac and they were sent as word docs.

14 fertilised eggs is great Soosy - would think you'd def get some blasts from that number. Do they monitor daily and get you in quick if you're down to 2? I think my clinic does that but not on Sunday so you have to take the Saturday to Monday chance. Hope you get your docs printed, but I'm sure clinic would print out copies for you if you collect them. Totally understand on the e-mail - I won't put my e-mail address on here either because it's 'firstname.surname@' and my real name is not anything like Issy .

Managed to get forms - we are going to go for blasties! I have 10 good embryos. They do check over the weekend and they have all divided since yesterday. So roll on Wed! I did manage to get a friend to print the forms off. I have moved out of London and its a bit of a journey into town.

I can't really out myself as I know at least one person on Mumsnet and I really like having one secret identity! My name is nothing like soosy either!

Thank you and good luck with your IVF. I am keeping up with the IVF thread.

S x
