i wouldn't normally get this till a couple of days before.... could this mean i'm pg? it's been a long time since last pg and have had lots of lovely sex with no protection? wot are the odds? or is it just wishful thinking?

If uve had sex without contraception there's a high chance there could be a baby on the way. But I also went through this about 3 weeks ago. My boons were painful and i couldnt bear them being touched. My tummy was cramping and bloated and wed had unprotected sex (withdrawal method) a few times. We got really freaked as we dont want another child just yet...but obviously we wernt being careful enough.
I was a week late on my period. So i think yo may need to wait and see whether yo get it!

If you are not due on for 10 days then your breasts probably hurt because you are in your luteal phase during which progesterone is the dominant hormone and that could have the effect of giving you tender breasts.

Unless you have an unusually long luteal phase (the period from ovulation to your period) it would be too early for an embryo to have implanted and to be having an effect on your body.

Of course, you could be pregnant this cycle, but it is probably too early for symptoms.

I agree with Mrs Happy. I get this in the second half of my cycle - I was told by my GP that it's due to increased progesterone.

Then again, you could be pregnant, but I doubt the breast pain is linked.

I had very sore boobs (and a great cleavage !) randomly for 3 consecutive months last year - first month was a chemical pregnancy, second month could have been a CP but not sure, 3rd month was a BFP - the difference was that the pain kept getting worse and worse and did not subside as it got closer to AF due date.
