Hello,

Have a friend looking at possibly doing IVF abroad and starting the process here in London, can anyone suggest where to go that would help and liaise with overseas clinic as well as provide all the initial testings and start ovarian stims etc?

Thanks

Bumping for you...

No personal experience of this but it is supposed to be ok priced here in Belgium where I live. If she wants I can leave the name of my gynaecologist - who speaks English and worked in the UK for a year and maybe she can contact her for some more info -. Not exactly what you were looking for I know.

I noticed this bit on the 92 Harley St website.

Looks like they would be able to do the tests, although whether they'd go as far as starting stims I don't know.

Might be worth a call?

Hi kandykane, I'm afraid I can't help with regard to starting the process in the UK, but I'm also in Belgium (Hi Timmette ) and just wanted to let you know that the gynae I go to is a top IVF consultant and I can give you his name if you'd like for your friend. He's from Uraguay and speaks good english. He is 'affiliated' with a Flemish University Hospital and they would, I presume, also speak very good english there too.

Let me know if you'd like his details, and good luck to your friend!

THANKS ALL!
monkey - Is the Flemish University Hospital in the UK?

Nope, 'fraid not... But it is above Brussels, which would make it closer to get to if travelling from the UK by car...

It might be worth your friend ringing somewhere abroad to see what they would recommend doing? Surely she can't be the first person wanting to start the process in the UK!

I have all the numbers for the relevant departments in VUB (Flemish Uni Hospital) if she wants to try to get some help from there... Let me know if you'd like them!
