I posted before about this and the update is as above. Last week they saw an empty sac - today they saw small yolk sac and fetal pole, no HB and sac still 2 weeks smaller than it should be. HCG levels 10k - have risen since last Thurs when they were 7k but obviously haven't nearly doubled. Doctor wants me to stop taking progesterone as he thinks this may be delaying a miscarriage. He wants to do another HCG level on Thurs and a progesterone test. Am tempted to continue with the progesterone but wondering if just delaying the inevitable. Had IVF which is why I'm on progesterone. Doctor said pregnancy will produce progesterone and stopping it for a couple of days won't make much difference as it's only a small supplement. Anyone else had a similar experience? TIA

extremelychocolatey I haven't been on progesterone so can't really help I'm afraid but just wanted to say I'm sorry for what you are going through. I had a missed miscarriage a few months ago and only found out at the 11 weeks scan so I understand what you are going through.

Is there any chance your dates could be wrong? If there is then there is some hope. Maybe the doctor could monitor levels for another few days?

Good luck and I hope things work out for you xxxx

Thanks curly. As I had IVF we know the dates but it seems from other stories on the internet that even then strange things sometimes happen. How are things with you since your mmc?

Mainly good thanks. The first couple of months was horrible, emotions all over the place. The girls on mumsnet have been incredible, we are now all on a conception thread together and we've had 4 successes so far

Miracles do happen, I so hope that you get yours honey. Hang on in there. I'll be keeping an eye out for your posts and sending lots of baby dust your way xxx

Thanks Curly. I had a mmc in December 05 with my first preganancy and like you found out at the 12 week scan. We're lucky to have a dd who is now 18 months and as I'm 41 this felt like a last shot. We were using frozen embryos from a failed fresh IVF cycle but I don't want to have another IVF cycle. Was the mmc your first pregnancy? Best of luck to you.

I'm so sorry about your MMC but congrats on your dd. I'm sure you love her all the more after losing your other lo. This was my second miscarriage but the first one was earlier on and didn't hit me as hard.

41 is hardly over the hill. I'm so hoping everything works out with this pregnancy but if it doesn't then give it a few months and see how you feel. Stay strong and if you need support, try the Emmsys angels thread, there's a lovely bunch of girls who will help to keep you sane

Thanks again Curly. You're right - I feel grateful every day that we have dd and really this attempt would be a bonus for us - we just think it would be good for her to have a sibling. A good friend of mine had 2 mcs and now has 2 lovely little boys. Good luck with trying and I will check out the Emmsys angels thread - thanks for that.
