Should I give up hope of being pregnant this month?

Period is 6 days late but test this morning said negative.

Cycle has been regular since periods returned when DD turned one. She's now 16 months and still breastfed, but less and less (down to twice a day now).

I had copper coil removed on day 9 of current cycle. Could this have upset ovulation?

Is it possible that I've been having anovulatory cycles these last 4 months? Despite regularity of AF?

I've got various cramps, twinges, bloating, tiredness but am trying not to analyse since they could be pg or PMS symptoms.

Has anyone had a BFN this late and still turned out to be pregnant? I'm using Boots cheapo tests - are they perhaps not very sensitive to pg hormones?

If you have regular periods it is more likely than not that you ovulate.

Yes removing the coil could delay ovulation - I find that stress, medical procedures, illness, travel all delay things (and apparently christmas does too, grrr).

I have had a very late BFP (20-something days after ovulation) but it was because that pregnancy was ectopic. There are women who have late BFPs in viable pregnancies, but I think it is pretty rare and you are obviously much more likely to get a BFP than a BFN when you are pregnant.

My money is on you having ovulated late.

I have just had an anovulatory cycle and my period was only a day or two late, have also had some strange cycles where I was very late but just got negative tests and then a period eventually.

I know that there are lots of other people on here though, who have had loads of negatives and then got a positive much later so it could happen to you

Thanks for replying MrsHappy and beanieb.

I wish I was more patient! I suppose at some point AF will make an appearance then.
