I went to the hospital yesterday after collecting a form from my GP to refer me to have a blood test done to confirm whether i am pregnant (5 home tests a missed period and morning sickness aren't enough to 100% convince me!!!) Anyway i had the test done yesterday am and was told the results should be there the following afternoon. I last called at 4pm today and they still weren't there. I'm presuming i am doing the right thing by calling my gp, i wasn't meant to call the hospital was i?? I don't have a number for them. How long did everyone elses take? Is t worth me calling again before they close or am i just being obsessive and should wait till tomorrow afternoon???

I had my blood tests done at my Fertility Clinic and they always took around 3 or 4 hours to complete. Certainly always got the results that evening but that was because it was the clinic's policy. I'd give them another call in the morning, although if you've had 5 positive tests, I'd be feeling fairly confident by now!

The hospital will do the test very quickly - at worst my resuls took 7 hours to come. But communication in the NHS is often (ahem) not great and it could take a while for your results to make their way back to your GP. Call your GP tomorrow and if they have not yet got your results try asking them either to chase or to give you the number so that you can call the hospital and chase.

But with 5 BFPs and nausea I think you should relax and enjoy your pregnancy (lucky thing).
