Please telll me your stories of how you got lots of BFNs followed by a BFP!

I'm 2 days late. This is the first proper cycle since a MC at 5 wks but MC started on day 27 so I was assuming a normal cycle this time which is 26 days.

Had major cramps all day on 10dpo, have sore bbs, dodgy bowels, slight queasiness.

However I've had 3 BFNs, the latest one today 16dpo cd28 i.e. 2 days late. I'm using ultra sensitive cheapies.

Please give me some hope! I was so sure af was arriving on Sunday... still feel like it's about to arrive any minute... surely I'd have a BFP by now??

are you sure you ovulated 16 days ago, did you do a kit or temp as if not could be you ovulated late this month and AF isn't due at time you are expecting her? I only say this cause this month i ovulated later than i usually do and she is due today, had bit of brown smear yeasterday so think she is on the way though x

I was nine days late before I got a BFP with DS2, it can happen, and I have read about others being 6+ weeks late before getting a BFP (and going on to have a healthy pregnancy)

However, the MC will have a bearing on your next few cycles, so I don't want to get your hopes up too much.

I do hope this is it for you, but the best thing you can do, as hard as it is, is just leave it for a couple of days and see what happens, if no period, test again. I really do understand how agonising it is (I have been in your position), but there isn't anything else you can do I'm afraid.

If you still have no period in a weeks time, and no BFP, then see your GP, he can do blood tests, and all the rest of it.

I have just been through this - finally got a resolution just this morning. 4 BFNs but AF got later and later. Went to dr for hcg blood test and I am afraid it was negative too. Eventually I was 21 days late but AF arrived with a rush. So I cannot give you good news on BFN becomes BFP. Even though I too thought I had symptoms of pg. Dr said probably just a one-off anovulatory cycle, probably caused by stress, not to worry and keep trying.

So my advice is, don't get your hopes up, HPTs are very accurate, but if it goes on, get a "hormone assay" done and that at least will either give you encouragement by showing your have no problems, or show up something that needs attention, either of which is helpful.
