Hello again well ive still not come on since my last period on the 12th feb 05 if you can remember the other thread I started is that I had had a light bleed for 2 days only on the 12th to 14th feb 05. I then started to get dizzy spells and very tired with the felling of coming down with the flu which I didnt get .Then because of these feelings my hubby and i decided to do a test on the 3rd march which came back negative,so i thought that was the end of that. then my nipples started to twinge and my boobs were painful around the sides that has now gone.I also had a very thick white string like discharge (sorry) the other day. I have now not got painful boobs as i normally do (always) And i have not come on my period as i normally do but have crampy like pain in my back im weeing constantly and its got a lot stronger i also feel like i could kill somebody ( of which i normally feel week b4 my period)i have never been late if anything early and i have got a lot of indigestion which i never get!! COULD I JUST COULD I BE PREGNANT?? ps i have been tested at the docs for water infe ction 2 weeks ago and it was clear.

Hate to tell you this, Debbsy, but PCOS did all this to my sister. She'd only have about 4-6 periods a year and feel PMT for ages, like she was about to come on. She'd need Provera to get her periods started sometimes before she got back on the Pill (she'd completed her family). I suggest seeing your doc asap.

debbsy · 19/03/2005 09:23

Hi Expat what does pcos mean?

She has Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. She doesn't ovulate, instead the corpus luteum doesn't mature fully and becomes a cyst on her ovaries. She knew she wasn't pregnant b/c her husband had had the snip after DD2. She'd have no period or a really light one b/c there'd been no ovum or egg released.

If a woman has really long cycles, or no cycle, or irregular cycles, it could be caused by any number of hormone imbalances, but PCOS is a common one. In my sister's case, she'd have all sorts of 'symptoms' one could mistake for pregnancy - although she knew she wasn't pregnant (and did not want to be). So she went in b/c she was tired of feeling that way and having an out of whack cycle. First she had tests for other hormone problems, like thyroid. Finally, her PCOS was diagnosed by laproscopic surgery and she went on the Pill to regulate it.

The first step is to see a doctor. Once they've ruled out pregnancy, it's time to see what is causing you not to have a full on cycle.

Have definetly NOT got that i was ill from nov to march 04 i was taken into hospital with suspected appendics to cut along story short (as i spent all that time in hospital) they kept giving me lots of scans as i had an ovarian cyst they kept checking to see if it disapeared with my cycle which it did i had on average 25 scans so it grows then erupts and the gynae said it was bcos i was overovulating. But to double check me i had a laparoscopy where he checked all my tubes ovaries etc and everything was a ok.And it turned out when i had explorative surgery to find the cause of my agony that i had twisted appendics.Which had to be removed.I havent used a well known brand test just a cheap one from work could this be why. Also in the shower this morn i felt my cervix its higher and softer what does that mean please?

it means you need to get a blood test to find out if you're really pregnant. i've 'symptomed' myself witless on several occassions whilst ttc DD, and was NOT pregnant. i even symptomed myself into being late from the stress. when i finally did become pregnant, i had no 'symptoms'. i just missed the period, full stop. waited till was 3 days late, tested, positive.

there are many causes for a woman's cycle to go out of whack. stress is one of them.

debbsy · 19/03/2005 09:44

so is the cervix thing not a sign? i am having a lot of symptoms maybe if i try a first response test do you think?

OP posts:
soapbox · 19/03/2005 11:30

Debbsy - I think that is a little unfair on Expat

I know you are upset and the not knowing must be killing you!

Expat was only trying to help!

Have you done the first response test that you have at home?? If it is neg I think you go to your docs on monday and ask for a blood test which will confirm it one way or another for you! Otherwise you will just stress yourself out with the waiting!

debbsy · 19/03/2005 11:51

Im sorry Expat very stressed out at the minute.Soapbox do you think i should do a first response test?

OP posts:
debbsy · 19/03/2005 11:53

Do you think i have a lot of signs Soapbox?

OP posts:
soapbox · 19/03/2005 12:07

Debbsy - I'm not sure really - with all the signs you are having I would have expected a positive response by now which is why it is worth doing the test you have.

I do think that you need to know one way or another though - as I can see that you are getting very stressed with not knowing

debbsy · 19/03/2005 12:16

Ok thank you im going to go now need to stop thinking about this as im driving myself mad.Sorry Expat again didnt mean it.

Btw, this is a public forum; just b/c someone doesn't tell you what you want to hear doesn't make them negative. Members are allowed to participate on any thread they wish so long as they are not making personal attacks on others, which I was not. As far as scaring someone 'half to death' just by mentioning what could be behind all these 'symptoms', well, if you get scared like that by stuff you read on the internet that's most unfortunate.

I've desperately wanted to be pregnant before. In fact, I'd love to be pregnant again and post on the TTC threads. In fact I was so stressed this past cycle (most likely b/c we were having two sets of international visitors back to back, one of whom I hadn't seen in nearly 20 years) that I was late and my PMS symptoms were 10x worse than usual. But it doesn't do a/one any good to go mental over it, especially if you are pregnant. Overexposure to corticosteroids is bad for the health.

Hope you get some resolution soon.
