Hi just wondering in a chemical pregnancy how long would the Hcg take to fall?

Trying to decide when to use my final (yes final I am not bloody buying anymore this month) test.

AM i had niggles but did even feel it rupture. the shoulder pain associated with ep occurs due to internal bleeding. i ended up having the full works. looking back though, i knew something was wrong. and btw i had a scan at 5w with ds (bled from 5w-22w too) and saw him, only a sac, but there he was, still have the pic. all you need for an early scan is someone with bit of expertise

OracleInaCoracle · 12/08/2008 16:18

oh, i did have pretty severe bckache!

cupcakeandtea · 12/08/2008 16:47

Just keep an eye on it and see what happens. I'm sure you'll be ok. For me i just didn't have a clue what was going on and that was what frightened me.

bandanna · 12/08/2008 17:12

I'm no expert but could your "period" not just have been an implantation bleed? Are you experiencing any pain or still bleeding now? If not it sounds like you're pregnant to me. EPU can't see anything on a scan until you get to 6 weeks so unless you are having other symptoms that will be why they won't want to see you until then. Good luck, keep us posted.

OracleInaCoracle · 12/08/2008 17:24

bandanna (fab name btw) an experienced sonographer can see a sac at 5w, i do understand what you are saying and perhaps because o my own mishaps i am over-cautious, but any bleeding in early pg should be checked. the ops bleeding sounds heavier than implantation and if she had sufficient hcg for a bfp on a cbd then it should (really) be high enough to stop a period.

OracleInaCoracle · 13/08/2008 17:41

any news?

bandanna · 14/08/2008 11:38

I stand corrected lissielou. My ectopic was at nearly 8 weeks and a very different experience again. Let us know how you are Abstract

AbstractMouse · 14/08/2008 21:02

No news yet thanks for asking, dropped sample off at the gp today and I will ring monday for an appoinment.

The epu near me must be really crap scaryhairy, I had bleeding at about 8 weeks with my last pregnancy and had to wait about 3 days I think before I got a scan.

OracleInaCoracle · 14/08/2008 21:35

ok, anything out of the ordinary, call a&e. im sure you will be fine though x

bandanna · 15/08/2008 12:04

Do you know or could you find out if there are any other EPU's near that offer a better service? My local one needs a referral from your GP but I know of another not too far away in a large Mat unit that you can just walk in, like an other A & E dept without any referral. PS. Sorry Lissielou, just read your earlier postings properly

ScaryHairy · 15/08/2008 12:25

That does sound a bit crap.
Do you feel ok? Just follow your instincts and go to the hosp if you get worried, but otherwise take it easy. Everything could well be absolutely fine.

OracleInaCoracle · 17/08/2008 12:04

how are you doing AM?

AbstractMouse · 17/08/2008 23:54

Hi lissie not too good really, have an awful virus which lovely dp has kindly shared with the whole family, and to top it off I've also started bleeding again, it's only tinted cm at the moment but I'm expecting it to get heavier

I did the freebie test with non-fmu and I only got pregnant 1-2 weeks, which kind of tipped me off, should have been 3+ weeks.

I'll see the Dr tomorrow but have zilcho hope for this time, had a bad feeling from the start, but nevermind at least in the next few day I will KNOW instead of second guessing everything and driving myself mad.

How are you lissie? It helps to talk on here, dp just buries his head in the sand tbh, don't think he realises how complex the whole ttc thing is, as far as he is concerned a bfp is bfp and a baby will result.

OracleInaCoracle · 18/08/2008 07:32

i know, its tough isnt it?

if you start bleeding, then straight to epu please. lie, tell them you have pain, you are further than you thought, anything. im so sorry, what a rollercoaster!

AbstractMouse · 18/08/2008 23:49

Hi went to the gynae ward today (oh what fun), after a 3 hour wait they did an internal and a pg test-bfn, unfortunately they did the internal first, lovely bit of pointless humiliation there.

Oh well at least I know now, still getting pain on my left side and bits of bleeding. Asked the dr if I would bleed heavily and he seems to think the bleeding on the 2nd was an early m/c so probably not. Wonder if Af will arrive on yime .

OracleInaCoracle · 19/08/2008 07:21

oh AM, im so, so sorry x

ScaryHairy · 19/08/2008 09:59

Oh dear, I'm sorry.
Take care of yourself.

bandanna · 19/08/2008 11:11

Very sorry, thinking of you.

roseability · 20/08/2008 15:13

AM - so sorry. This has happened twice to me. It is crap

AbstractMouse · 20/08/2008 18:49

Thanks for your messages, now somebody slap me really frigging hard. I did a stupid thing today, I had 1 pg test left and wanted to see the bfn myself, especially since the sample I gave at the hosp was really dilute (drank 2 bottles of pop out of sheer boredom, staring at the lovely blue walls) and it was farking positive.

Please somebody tell me that this is leftover hormones, that the hospital tests know better (btw it must be some kind of mechanical test, was on a little printout, v swanky).

If the bfn is to be believed, I m/c when my period was due therefore the bleeding, but why the eff am I still gettting a bfp 2 and a half weeks later? None of it makes any sense and I am mighty confused. honestly wish I had never decided to ttc.

Also if I m/c then why would I randomly have brown bleeding in the middle of my "cycle".

Sets mind to believe that she m/c last week and hence the brown bleeding and still bfp, especially as she got really rather pissed last night due to non-pg status.

OP posts:
ScaryHairy · 20/08/2008 20:20

Am not going to slap you, since I would do the same.
The BFP could well be residual hormones, but you need to see your Dr. I really wish they would scan you or do some blood tests since that would give you an answer either way.

AbstractMouse · 20/08/2008 20:22

Thanks scary, I already felt like a plonker the other night so I'm not going back to the Dr's.

Think I will just wait a couple of weeks and then see what happens.

OP posts:
AbstractMouse · 20/08/2008 20:25

I swear first time in my life I have ever wanted to see a bfn (was even talking to the line, like "oh your not there, your just streaky bits because the dye is passing through" I'm going effing mental lol.

OP posts:
OracleInaCoracle · 20/08/2008 20:28

AM, call NHS direct and insist on a scan. i cant believe they didnt even do bloods!

AbstractMouse · 20/08/2008 21:08
