Hello before I had my son in January, I lived on Mumsnet but since having him (and moving country!) I haven?t managed to get on much at all. I am now waking up to trying for another baby and I wondered if there are other ladies in the same boat as me trying again. I am mid 30s and want a few more kids but I am also still breast feeding (though I started weaning my son 3 weeks ago) and I haven?t yet noticed any signs of returning fertility

Hi can I join in please?

DH and I have just agreed to start trying for dc2 as DS is 11mo and I am 35.

Feel like I have unrealistic expectations as ds was concieved before we even "officially" started trying (honeymoon baby).

This is month 1 and am already checking certain things somewhat obsessively. The fact that I know its day 13 says it all - previusly wouldn't have had a clue.

yes, I agree, almost every minute! How wonderful about the kilts! I?d be delighted to help you in any way I can with spreading the word, CAT me with website details etc if you have them and maybe you could make one for my DS when he?s a bit older Can?t believe your DS is almost 1!! Totally understand you wanting to wait a little bit longer to TTC with that trip. My mother is having a go at me to wait until the new year saying that I am too fat and need to lose weight first I am a couple of stone heavier than my ideal weight but I weigh the same as I did when I got pregnant with DS!

Wasabipeanut hello! I think we have met before on another thread? Welcome! Hope it happens quickly for you hon

hi mrsmcj - just working on the website just now, but will let you know when its up and running - thanks.

bit cheeky of your mum - my mum is a bit more subtle about weight but she makes it known that she thinks i could do with losing some - i'm not all that much over weight but a bit, and i know i should exercise more etc etc but i dont think i am unhealthy (ran the london marathon in April) so it would be nice not to have that as an issue from her. i sometimes wish i could just get to the middle of my healthy bmi, and then stay there (which i'm sure lots of people do) but i'm not prepared to diet cause then i just get obsessive about food.

anyway long post about not very much.

wasabipeanut - the obsessiveness is inbuilt i think - dont think you can do anything to avoid it - when is af due?

Hope everyone is enjoying practising if not actually ttc . Dh and I have definitely left it open this month, eg havent tried to prevent it, so af due next thursday but i dont feel anything really either way.

iamamummy · 06/08/2008 14:12

conker - good luck then for next week! my af is due the 17th and i know we did the deed exactly on day 14 and that wasnt planned either!

having a bloomin nightmarre at the mo SIL has left her chinchillas with us whilst she goes to spain for 2 weeks. the mum has just had 3 babies at 1 o clock this avo i used to breed chins so its not unkown territory but im soooo not geared up for it - pets at home here i come!!

conkertree · 12/08/2008 20:26

hi iamamummy - been away for a few days at my parents - very nice time although 4 children (my brother and sister with their families were there too) under 4 was quite noisy.

How are the chinchillas gettting on? never had any pets myself so i'd be totally lost.

af due on thurs and feeling quite pmtish so expecting it to turn up as usual which would be good. although we are ttc, i think i'd prefer it not to have happened this month (although that may change if af doesnt turn up).

hope everyone is having better weather than us - its miserable outside.

iamamummy · 15/08/2008 14:36

hiya conker!

4 children under 4 - wow! hope you stocked up with asprin before you went!

chinchillas are fine back home with sil now (phew!) we dont have pets anymore thank goodness and looking after someone elses for a cpl of weeks just reminds me that i definately dont want anymore either.

did af arrive?

the weather here has been shocking too hale thunder and rain yesterday although today is sunny

conkertree · 11/09/2008 16:40
