What are we thinking of FRERs now?

I remember people going off FRER tests recently, with lots of false positives... Are they okay again now? If you've been avoiding them, what brand do you prefer to use now?

I’ve used clear blue more recently - would you say they’re likely to be more reliable?

I think they went weird and then were fine again. I rate boots early response though and then you get the boots points... i made enough in points over 7 ivf cycles to buy myself a bottle of perfume 🫠

Definitely avoid blue lines - pink only!!

FRERs had bad indents for a while that looked like positives. Personally mine was actually quite obviously grey and not pink but others might have had different experiences. I would never use clearblue again no matter what. I personally prefer the cheap strip tests and if there’s a hint of a line on that use a digital 2 days later. In my years of TTC I never found one particular brand that was 100% reliable.
In all honesty I think it’s the testing really early that’s the issue. If you test after your period is due the line is usually very very obvious. Whereas testing early when you are squinting at it and moving it around in different lights can cause people to interpret indents/dye runs/evaps as positives.
