Has anyone just started trying or going to start trying soon? This is my first month of trying, I just thought it’d be nice to start a thread and we can share our monthly progress. I’m 33 and trying for my first baby. I’ve been tracking ovulation the last three months to try and understand my cycle better.

Hi! I’m 29 and we have just started trying this month for our first. I have also been tracking my cycles - I have the natural cycles app because we were using it for contraception until now. So we’ve been using that and ovulation strips. I’ve just ovulated Friday/Saturday so it’s a waiting game for the next couple of weeks. Where are you at in your cycle?

YoulookniceJacky · 20/07/2026 21:10

Hi 🙂I’m on cycle day 20, period due in a week. I’ve got the Premom app, is natural cycles good?
I’m nervous now that we’re actually trying as no idea how long it’ll take but excited to start the journey. It feels weird as we’ve spent so long trying not to get pregnant and now it’s all we want!

Hi also trying for first baby and I’m also 33. Currently on cycle 6 of TTC so hopefully soon! On day 30 of my cycle (33-35days) so hopefully test at the weekend. I normally use premom ovulation strips and bbt tracking. Good luck with your baby journeys 🩷

I like the app but it is quite expensive - I got a referral code from a friend which made it a bit cheaper and I got a free bbt wristband which is good because I suffer with a bit of insomnia so taking it myself orally doesn’t work as I often miss when I first wake up.

it’s funny isn’t it! Going from trying not to get pregnant and then trying to do it on purpose 😂 I’ve found myself very impatient just wanting it to catch first time which I know is very unlikely…

Good luck @Runner1234 ! Hopefully you get a positive - I think I’ve heard that for this age most people will get a positive around 3-8 months of trying average.

Hi @Runner1234

Good luck! I hope you get your positive soon 💖 I’ve been using the Premom strips too, I haven’t tracked bbt yet I need to find a bbt thermometer, they all seemed to have mixed reviews on Amazon.

@DungareeParty oh the wristband sounds good, I haven’t tried tracking bbt yet but I’m a bit of a tricky sleeper too.
I’d love to be pregnant by Christmas, it’s a little goal that I’m just keeping in my head but no idea how long it’ll take. I’ve got friends who tried for 2 years until it happened and others who caught immediately.

The wristband is good - I got it with the subscription, and it somewhat tracks sleep as well in order to get the right temp. I have referral codes if anyone wants - I think it gives you 20% off - but I’m not sure I’d bother if I didn’t already have it unless I’d been trying a while and not getting anywhere. It works with Fitbit/Apple Watch as well I think.

I’d love to be pregnant by Christmas as well - in a totally ideal world I’d love a spring/early summer baby just because I think the mat leave with a nicer weather would be nice for getting out and walks etc!

It’s nice to be able to get my thoughts out haha - we’re not telling anyone we’re trying so I can’t really chat to anyone about it in real life

Hi! We started TTC our first this year. I’m also 33 (well, 34 next week!). Had a miscarriage in April and again in June so currently in the TWW again this cycle to see if third time will be the charm! 🤞🏻

DungareeParty · Today 11:49

I’m sorry about your losses @cosmicstars, I really hope you get your lovely rainbow baby this time. When will you be testing?

cosmicstars · Today 12:05

@DungareeParty I’m going to try and wait until next Tuesday which will be 10DPO. Whether I hold out till then will be another story 😂

SquadOfSquid · Today 13:10

Hey all, this is now month 10 (month 9 of seriously trying) of TTC. I’ve just turned 37, had a bunch of fertility tests (all excellent levels) & a HyCoSy this month (ouch) and just got this fairly clear positive at 12dpo.

Pretty shocked tbh, as it’s taken 10 months of trying, and ironically pretty scared as it’s going to mean big changes if it sticks. Seems mad to be nervous when we’ve wanted this for so long!
