Positive tests followed by negatives with PCOS and spotting

Hi I’m just wondering if anyone has had positive tests and then negative the following day. For a little more context, I have pcos with irregular cycles and I track ovulation by following my cm. This month has been a little different for me and I’m not sure what’s going on. A few days ago I had some brownish almost red spotting that happened just once when wiping. I for sure thought my period was starting but it did throw me off as I wasn’t expecting a period right then. I wore a pad at night and had no more spotting. The following afternoon I had more spotting, this time a little reddish pink, again just the once when wiping. Nothing else for the rest of the day. The day after I had brownish spotting in cm, just the once and only upon wiping. I’ve had nothing else since. Yesterday afternoon I took 2 tests, and they came up positive with a faint pink line but visible and my partner could see them both. This morning I took 3 more tests, 2 of the same brands as yesterday and 1 clearblue ultra early. All 3 have come back negative. It’s a little disheartening to be honest but this happened on Mother’s Day too. I took 2 tests early Sunday morning, both positive with faint lines, though they were fainter than yesterdays tests, and then negative the following morning. I’ve never had the spotting before, usually brown spotting is a sign my period is coming but it continues and doesn’t stop and start like it has done this cycle. Has anyone experienced any of this before? And what was the outcome?
