Can you have PCOS despite having regular periods?

Does anyone have PCOS but regular periods? I’m being tested for infertility / recurrent MC and my blood tests are potentially indicating PCOS. We won’t know more until I have my ultrasound but I didn’t know you could potentially have PCOS with regular periods? Any experience from anyone appreciated?

Yes. My periods are fairly regular and I was diagnosed a couple of months ago

Thank you for your reply. If you don’t mind me asking, have they given you and treatment? My dr was doing tests to then refer me to fertility but the dr I spoke with yesterday said that if it’s confirmed it’s PCOS then I’d need to be on treatment for a certain amount of time before being referred?

Ive had pcos for over 20 years.
My periods are extremely regular , I ovulate day 14 every month.
Ive had spells over the years where my periods would be erratic and then very regular. They've been regular now for years tho

Thank you for replying. How have you found it? I’ve only recently had an odd cycle. I’m normally 28 days. Are you on any treatment to help with TTC or have you managed to conceive?

sorry my mind is scrambled atm 🙈

Not yet. I've asked for more testing to make sure it's the right diagnosis due to other health stuff I have going on and too see if there's anything going on inside like cysts etc because I have heavy periods.

Regular as clockwork and diagnosed with PCOS at 30 but had symptoms since 18 (facial hirsutism, bad acne, insulin resistance etc). Can’t help with questions re fertility unfortunately - I never met anyone to have kids with so I’m childless.

Yes, I had PCOS but my periods were always regular.

My periods have been regular since I started at 10 until I hit perimenopause. I found out I have POCS after my first child and went on to have another. Have you been trying long @DoraBella88 or are you getting tested for health issues?

BananaMilkshake77 · 10/05/2026 15:50

Me, v regular . Even more regular since children!

It seems more common than I thought then. I just always assumed PCOS = irregular periods but clearly not.
yes we’ve been trying for over 10yrs and I’ve had 4 early miscarriages in that time.

I have PCOS and regular periods. Always ovulated too.

Brokedownpalace · Yesterday 14:15

Yes I have been told I have Polycystic ovaries but not the full PCOS syndrome, my periods have always been regular and conceived two children.

Sorry to hear about your early losses that must be really hard 💔

Thank you. It’s been tough I won’t lie. But hopefully we’ll get there eventually

Yes, but I also learnt be tracking my temperature with a Basel body thermometer that I didn’t ovulate every month. I would have a bleed but I wouldn’t have ovulated.
You can investigate that by buying a fertility thermometer and follow the rules for taking temperature in the morning
