Hi everyone, I have a history of recurrent miscarriages (5 in total, no children) .. I am 5 weeks pregnant today, but clear blue is saying 1-2 weeks .. I would love to hear other people’s experiences who have been in a similar boat? I haven’t booked a private scan yet.. I just don’t know what to do.. I have asked GP if they can do bloods but not heard back yet

I’m sorry OP but it is likely this hasn’t held

GoldJules · 22/04/2026 17:25

@Mancgirl91 you can pay for hcg blood tests - i think it’s around £50, which I know isn’t nothing - especially as to be worth doing, you’d probably need to have these 48 hour apart to see if it’s rising as it should. I would favour doing this over a scan…

Thanks @GoldJules I was looking into this.. I will try to arrange that tomorrow .. is it just private places you google online? Thank you

I’m really sorry to hear that. It’s such a rough process x

I’m really sorry OP. Have you been referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic?

I found them extremely helpful, and was given progesterone for my next (successful) pregnancy.

Thinking of you x

I thought those ones dates from conception and not date of last period. So 1-2 weeks on a clear blue would be 5-6 weeks by LMP/booking appointment. I've been out of the pregnancy loop for years though and this just popped up in active, so maybe things have changed. Hopefully it's implantation spotting, good luck.

They still measure from conception but 1-2 weeks would be 3-4 weeks from LMP. (Obviously it all really depends on when you ovulated but that’s going by a standard cycle)

Hi everyone, I did a test this morning and it says 2-3 weeks now .. I have been spotting but it looks like old blood rather than red blood.. I spoke to EGU and they aren’t going to do any tests and just advised me to continue with the meds I have been given by the recurrent miscarriage clinic. @ItsPickleRick yes I have been given cyclogest, and prednisolone this time. It’s such a weird time! Some days I have zero symptoms and some days some symptoms .. I guess I just have to wait and see :( may book a private scan, but from my previous experiences I feel put off as I’ve always had bad news there and would rather have bad news in an NHS clinic

Prednisolone was a game changer for me. Good luck! 🤞🤞🤞

Cyclogest can cause spotting I believe, so it could be that!

Keeping everything crossed for you OP x

MrsKurz · 23/04/2026 21:25

My Clearblue weeks indicators were very slow to progress and my tests were extremely light in the beginning. I fretted for probably 3.5 weeks until i got the 3+ indicator. I also had bleeding because I had a SCH. She's about to turn 1 :)

Mancgirl91 · 24/04/2026 12:59

Thank you all for the reassurance ☺️ I really hope I have a successful pregnancy this time fingers crossed 🤞

How’s things going @Mancgirl91 ?

Mancgirl91 · 26/04/2026 21:37

@Hardgarden ive been lightly spotting everyday, but no heavy bleeding or pains .. so just holding onto hope until the scan 🙏 thank you for asking 💕

It’s never going to be a given that you suddenly get the 2-3 weeks once you turn 5 weeks, and then the 3+ at 6 weeks. These tests are a horribly stressful way to try a track the progression of a pregnancy.

Everything sounds as positive as possible for you currently, so try and enjoy knowing you’re currently pregnant :)

GoldJules · 15/05/2026 20:40

@Mancgirl91 i was just wondering how everything is going for you? X
