Testing early at 9 or 10 DPO and managing expectations

Tried so hard not to test early but not sure how anyone resists! I really want to know either way now to avoid disappointment- 9/10dpo. I feel I can see a vvf line here but not convincing enough. How do you survive not testing until after expected period is missed

I think I can see a faint line on yours! I have no advice I'm exactly the same... especially as I've definitely tested positive at 9dpo last time. Think I've got a faint line today at 10dpo this cycle. I really want to test again today! Last time I got my partner to hide my tests..

So hard isn’t it! Your mind goes in so many directions
hopefully tomorrow and Monday we both have clearer tests 🥺🥹

I was burnt before by testing at 10dpo (it was prior to a holiday so I wasn't sure if I could drink or not and thought best to check). The faintest line gave me no clarity and in the end I wasn't pregnant. It upset me so much I always wait until 12dpo. Then it's pretty much a certainty either way.

When I did get pregnant with my first it ended up being pretty magical seeing an unmistakeable line at 12dpo. I hope to have that experience again.

Fingers crossed for you that this is it though!

@Tomato23 I got 1-2 weeks today on a digital. Definitely more cautious though this time. This is was first ovulation after 6 week miscarriage. I will keep testing just feels like your doing something doesn't it. Did you test again today hopefully you've had good news

I’m in my first month TTC and I was trying not to get my hopes up or go crazy with it so didn’t track ovulation however my fertile window was between 17 and 22nd March affording to the app.

Period is currently 3 days late but I can’t seem to get a clear positive. I have definitley seen a couple of faint lines on the pregnancy tests I bought but they’re from Amazon and after all my faint lines I went back to read the reviews and basically they are extremely unreliable. I’ve bought some from Tesco and have some clear blue digital coming later today. First Tesco one was inconclusive again - possibly a very faint line but also possibly just in my head. DH thinks I should just assume not pregnant for now but it’s hard. I’ve taken so many tests and I have no more information!

Joining the early testing madness with wasting an 8dpo test today. 😅 Obviously negative but I'll still waste another tomorrow!

@Talkingtomyhouseplants is there any chance you ovulated late? If you're sure of ovulation timing, 3 days late would be very late to get a positive test. The tesco ones aren't great btw, the line shows as an indent / reflects a lot of light.

I absolutely could have done! I wasn’t tracking ovulation properly so I don’t know exactly when it was. Still no period!

@Talkingtomyhouseplants 🤞🏼🤞🏼 for you! If you think back to 10-12 days ago, did you have any ovulation signs? Hoping for sticky baby dust for you!

I am really hoping for this month - I'm non UK and this would be the perfect month to conceive for childcare funding & school placements. A Jan baby would be quite a bit more expensive!

My cheap amazon ones are still quite faint and I'm guessing I'm about 12/ 13dpo but still came up 1-2 weeks on the digital one so you never know!
