Trying to conceive after Mirena removal at 30, what to expect?

Hi everyone!

I have just turned 30 and will be having my mirena coil removed on April 13th.

I have had the coil in place for 3 years, and before then would have regular monthly bleeds. On the coil I get no bleeds, but still get a week leading up to my period time where I feel moody and my boobs hurt, and still get period pains.

We want to try to concieve for the first time after April 13th. How quickly can I expect to fall pregnant and any advice?

I have already been taking pregnacare vitamins for 3 months and have been trying to make good choices with food and exercise.

Thank you!

It took me 6 months to fall pregnant after the copper coil removal which you are supposedly fertile again straight after. I’d had 6 pregnancies prior who I fell the first month off. I had a lot of false positives/ pink evaps from tests along the way with my last baby so be careful. I think after the mirena you’re supposed to be fertile again soon after. Keep testing for ovulation but bear in mind you can get a positive ovulation test and then it can be positive a few days after again so they aren’t a true guarantee of when ovulation is going to occur. They can also be positive right before a period is due which some people use as a method of indicating pregnancy but it’s typically not. It’s good to feel you’re proactive in tracking things though. Good luck

Also I’d recommend using a conception cup. After 6 months of nothing I was desperate and actually fell pregnant the month of using that. Probably was coincidence but I truly believed i wasn’t going to get pregnant the month I did.

i got pregnant immediately after removal! I tracked ovulation which was a couple of weeks after having it removed and discovered I was pregnant a couple of weeks after that! I was 31 at the time too so it’s not impossible ❤️
