had a HSG but they want to take yet another look. at this rate every doc in the UK will be able to draw a map of my fecking reproductive organs from memory!

anaesthetic that should have read, of course!

Hulababy · 01/07/2008 21:11

I hope all goes well.

mags98 · 01/07/2008 21:14

Thanks.

Just can't get it out of my head at the moment.

OracleInaCoracle · 01/07/2008 21:18

im sure it will be fine. i had a HSG without GA last year and while it was uncomfortable, it wasnt THAT painful. take a few paracetomol beforehand and write off a few days, get dh to wait on you!

Thanks, that is reassuring. It was not too bad then?

Just the thought of what they are going to do... eeek!

It is actually partly related to worrying about what will be found too, and the whole stress of TTc and two MCs.

Bit of a nightmare this being a woman business, isn't it?

OracleInaCoracle · 01/07/2008 22:11

it really is truly crap. you lose all dignity!

im sure you will be fine though.

thre is also a chance that it will improve your chances of conceiving though.

Mags, I had one last week with no GA. It was slightly painful at the time, and a bit crampy afterwards, but it was over in no time at all. They did a scraping for a biopsy at the same time, which was also a bit sore. It's more undugnified than anything else, and it is quite interesting to see the inside of your womb on the screen.

Wear a skirt - it's quite a wet procedure. They squirt water up at the same time as the camera. You'll bleed for a few days after, as well.

You get a nice cup of tea and a biccy afterwards too.

mags98 · 02/07/2008 00:37

Sorry if too much information, but how painful is painful?

Like a crampy period pain? Or sharp pain? Worse or better than a coil fitting or smear for example?

Did they tell you is it OK to TTC immediately (I suspect will probably ovulate the follwoing weekend, will that be OK?

MrsMuddle · 03/07/2008 09:26

Sharp pain while it's being done, then a couple of days of period pain. I think a lot depends on the skill of the doctor doing it though.

I'm definitely not TTC - in fact, I'm going back next month to get the Mirena fitted - so I can't help you there!

I'm off to France now for a fortnight, but I hope you get on OK. It's over in 5 minutes.

mags98 · 08/07/2008 22:39

I had it today. It actually was OK. I had no anaesthetic and was just a little uncomfortable. Some adhesions were found and treated, so it took longer than normal, and I do have quite pad period type cramps now, but overall, not too bad.

OracleInaCoracle · 10/07/2008 10:13

good news mags, be prepared for your period to be v heavy this month, i was quite shocked!

Now I have a dilemma.

I am currently on antibiotics, steroids (both for a week) and hormones for a month.

This morning I had a positive LH surge on my Clearblue fertility monitor.

Best to wait till after period to try again do you think? Would it be really daft to take a chance?

poppynic · 10/07/2008 12:30

I don't know anything about the hysterectomy but I had my first GA two weeks ago and lurved it - am dreaming of another - first decent deep sleep I've had since having children 6 years ago. Good luck.

poppynic · 10/07/2008 12:32

Oh sorry, just read the last postings - completely irrelevant post - I'll leave now.

OracleInaCoracle · 10/07/2008 19:35
