14 dpo and worried about line progression

I got a vvvv faint positive at 9dpo and I’ve been testing everyday since. The lines are darker than they were at 9dpo but I don’t think they’re progressing as much as they should be.
When I test with first morning urine the lines are so so faint, but are a bit darker in the afternoon and evening. I know some people do get darker tests later in the day but my test this morning was so faint for 14dpo and now I’m worried.
I done a digital at 11dpo and it said not pregnant but done another one yesterday and got pregnant 1-2 which I thought was a good sign that my hcg was rising but after my test this morning I just know something isn’t right 😔
This is my test this morning, surely it should be much darker at 14dpo with FMU?

Have you had things confirmed at the doctors? I had a similar experience with my second pregnancy although I did have my pregnancy confirmed at the gp, they sent me for a very early scan and everything was fine - sending you lots of luck

Thunderpants88 · 15/01/2026 07:28

I agree and would be worried too with all of my pregnancies the lines were much darker by 14dpo

could you make a gp app to discuss a blood draw?

im sorry this limbo land is cruel

Halfthethrill · 15/01/2026 07:29

The line does not look solid to me

Renisenb · 15/01/2026 07:37

People are obsessed with progression on here but not everyone sees it. Most medics will tell you not to worry and that it’s variable.
In the early days mine really varied - urine HCG

Plus blood HCG aren’t always as linked as ppl say and that’s before you take into account urine concentration (which can vary even first thing in the morning).

I’m attaching mine from 18dpo which looked pretty faint to me. At 16dpo they looked pretty much exactly like your one above.

Id buy cheap ones then do 2 at a time for reassurance xx

I’m in Northern Ireland and we actually don’t get a pregnancy confirmed with the GP, we just do a self referral to the hospital and wait for a booking appointment!

I didn’t say I wasn’t looking for progression if you read my post - I just said it didn’t matter

  • I actually just couldn’t believe it/ was convince it wouldn’t last so took another test

Surely you can see that line progression may “matter” in some cases?

Toddlergirly · 15/01/2026 07:48

This looks like an evap line. Grey and not a full line. If you were 14dpo and pregnant then the line would be easy to read. I don’t think the GP will do a blood test because pregnancy tests taken after a missed period are very accurate nowadays. Renisenb’s first test is faint but positive and the other is a definite positive.

ClaireF992 · 15/01/2026 08:09

When is AF due? Are you having any symptoms? I had a chemical last year and I did a test at 11dpo and it was very faint positive, I did another test 4 days later it was still very faint positive. But I never got a ‘pregnant’ on a digital. I started having pink discharge about 7 days after AF was due with cramps.

I think you’ll be better to get another of the same test and test again if AF doesn’t arrive in 2 days. The wait is awful! I’ve got everything crossed for you xx

AF is due on Saturday! I’m just a bit disheartened after getting a positive digital yesterday 😩

This was my test with second morning urine, it’s definitely darker but not sure if it’s still too light for 14dpo

Honestly stop testing and wait til AF is overdue. Line progression is meaningless - unfortunately even a chemical pregnancy will still show a line for a while. I know it's hard, I've been there, but testing doesn't change anything. I only ever got a visible line a day or two after my period was late.

I remember I phoned the doctors when I found out I was pregnant with my first and they asked me if there was a reason I was telling them 🤣 I was like no I just didn’t know what else to do 🤣

@El91 omg 🤣 well that’s what I would have done as well! The nurse confirmed mines with a test and prescribed folic acid and booked the scan, must be all different now. I’m lucky even getting through to the doctors now to be fair, can’t just make an appointment anymore you’ve to explain your symptoms to the receptionist and wait for a call back, after waiting an hour in the waiting list lol
