Hi as the title says I’m TTC baby 2 at 37. First was at 29 so I’m anxious about the difficulty I might have. This is my first ‘official’ month trying. I’m on CD 2. I plan to use OPKs and CM to help guide me.

Anyone in a similar situation or have any advice?
xx

You may have difficulty you may not but my advise would be not to stress if it happens it will, to me age is just a guideline there’s women conceiving naturally in there late 40’s !! For me I have never tracked or stressed on both of my pregnancies which I think really did help with conception as it was enjoyable not a chore just to get pregnant if that makes sense.
You have already got a DC which is amazing so don’t be anxious about it your bonus baby will come when you’re relaxed and most of the time when you least expect it :D

I see this a lot on mumsnet about 'difficulty', can I ask what you mean please and what your concerns are?

I am 38 and I honestly didn't even consider my age when TTC.. Fell pregnant 3rd cycle. I also know women who fell pregnant age 38-45.. They never mentioned their age... well the 45 year old did because it was a shock lol

Im in a similar situation, had my 1st at 32 fell pregnant within 4 cycles. Im now 36 TTC my 2nd and im on my 6th cycle with no luck so far.

From what I have read over 35 statistically it will likely take longer. So im trying to be paitent (not my strong point).

Im taking a fair few supplements (a prenatal multi, Coq10, isotol, omega 3 + Vit D). I'm a healthy weight and very active so I havent had to make many lifestyle changes, but I have given up drinking alcohol completely for last 3 cycles and reduced my caffeine intake to 1 coffee a day.

Im using OPKs to track ovulation and time DTD. I think next cycle i will start tracking BBT incase this helps. Im abit of a control freak and i love data, so tracking for me isn't stressful - its not knowing that would cause me to sprial haha.

But like I said ive not had much luck so far so not sure im the best person to dish out advice !!

I think maybe it’s just knowing that your fertility decreases with age, significantly after 35 due to egg quantity and quality decreasing. My sister has just ‘accidentally’ gotten pregnant at 41 and given birth to a healthy baby at 42 so I know it happens. But I suppose I’m just maybe an anxious person in nature that’s why x

Thank you for the vitamin advice! I don’t really drink much but I could probably do with cutting down on the caffeine. Hopefully all you’re doing is going to pay off soon 🤞🏼

Im the same as you with regards to data, but I do have an obsessive personality so I am just trying (and failing already) to try not to become obsessed with it all. Why is it so all consuming?! I remember this feeling vividly with my first! X

Please don’t worry. You just had your first baby young! I was TTC DC2 at the same age and got pregnant in the second month of trying. I had DC1 at 36 and new lots of women of the same age having babies, so I didn’t worry at all. (I do think it would have been much harder after 40 when my cycle became erratic. Very few friends have managed to have a baby much past 40/41. But 37 is not 40.)
