Smiley on Clearblue digital but negative opk

Hi! I’m currently TTC baby no 3 and this is our 3rd month of trying. I’ve been having the Clearblue digital ovulation tests this month (not the advanced one, the one that just gives a static smiley, no flashings ones.)
I usually do the tests first thing in the morning, I got a circle on CD8-11, then randomly tested just after midnight on CD12 and got a smiley. But when I ejected the test it didn’t look anywhere near positive, the test line was a good bit lighter than the control line. I then done a cheap OPK and it was negative as well, and the next couple of days they were all negative too.
Does anyone know why I got a smiley face when all the tests were negative? I’m now 7 or 8dpo going by the Clearblue but I’m worried that I didn’t even ovulate as I didn’t catch my peak.

You may have a fast LH surge and caught the tail end. Use the premom app to track things, as the graph will make the peak more obvious. If you detect a rise start to test more frequently.
