How quickly after MC did you conceive? And what did you do (if anything?) to increase chances?

Just as the title says really.. I had surgical management for MMC at 9 weeks pregnant two weeks ago and just curious how long it took others to conceive after a miscarriage and if you did anything to increase your chances? Keen to conceive again quickly x

I am definitely the exception to the rule in this respect because I have secondary infertility but I’m still waiting for another positive 3 years after my mmc ☹️ I know many fall soon after though so good luck x

@thejollytrolleydollyoh I’m sorry, if you don’t mind me asking do you know the cause? Or has it been unexplained? I hope you get your positive soon xx

For me, immediately. I didn't have a period in between pregnancies. Everyone is different. I hope you get pregnant again quickly x

@balletflatblisteraw wow that’s great, I really hope that’s the case for me too! Thanks for sharing. If you don’t mind me asking, did you ovulate as expected or did it take longer? I’m two weeks post miscarriage and not sure what to expect or how to even time it xx

My miscarriage was a similar time frame to yours, I think I was about 9 weeksish when it began to go wrong. But I passed the tissue naturally almost exactly a week after first starting to spot. After that, I think my cycle started up again as if I'd just had a period, if that makes sense, a few days later. I could tell I was ovulating as normal

balletflatblister · 12/12/2025 15:05

Also, worth sharing for future reference that with my successful pregnancy, I had a random outburst of bleeding at 16ish weeks. Ultimately they have no idea why and my DC was totally healthy

Moosey898 · 12/12/2025 15:09

My period came back 5-6 weeks after surgical management each time (had 4 to date).
It took 6,9,6,3 months to conceive again x

lilyflower1803 · 12/12/2025 15:36

I had a chemical pregnancy in August so not quite the same, but I just got on a whole bunch of fertility supplements, and made sure to eat really well and reduce stress! I was lucky because I’m between jobs after leaving a stressful jobs so could prioritise this, but I am sure this was a factor, my body was too burnt out to support a pregnancy at the time and my hormones were out of whack!

AWanderingMinstrel · 12/12/2025 15:43

Was told to wait for a period after miscarriage followed by D and C - period straight after, got pregnant following month.

MaggieBsBoat · 12/12/2025 15:47

Each time within a month of surgery. But it’s so random. Be kind to yourself.

Anythingpink · 12/12/2025 15:57

@MaggieBsBoat thank you for sharing, if you don’t mind me asking, do you mean you testing positive to a new pregnancy a month after the surgery? So you ovulated a few weeks after like a usual cycle? X

@AWanderingMinstrel thank you for sharing and congrats 🥳. The dr didn’t say to wait until after a period for any reason other than being able to date the pregnancy. I seem to read so much conflicting advice about this x

Snap!! I'm unfortunately in the exact same situation. I did develop endometritis after the surgery though, which probably has left me with scarring.

Anythingpink · 12/12/2025 16:09

@Dreamless112 sorry to hear that 😔 it took us over 3 years to conceive the pregnancy I just lost - I also had stage 4 endo and had surgery Feb just gone x

Hi OP sorry for what you’ve been through. My situation is a little different, I had a spontaneous loss at 7 weeks no medical intervention needed. We conceived again straight away, no period in between. We too were keen to conceive and starting trying again the day after the bleeding stopped. Had sex roughly every other day or every day for about two weeks and got a positive clear blue early digi test 17 days after the bleeding had stopped. All the best

mumof1or2 · 12/12/2025 20:45

After three miscarriages, i read a book called “it starts with the egg” and did everything it advised. We then conceived after a few months and now have a healthy two year old!

LondonLady1980 · 12/12/2025 20:47

Took me 10 cycles to fall pregnant again after my miscarriage. I was at the point of giving up to be honest.

Utardelis · 13/12/2025 11:04

Hi firstly so sorry for your loss
im now onto cycle 4 after a miscarriage and no luck yet
I read a lot of stories online after it happened about people getting pregnant straight away and I think it gave me a bit of false hope and more upset when my period arrived
Trying to be patient but some days are easier than others

take care of yourself and wishing you lots of luck xxx

I'm in this situation at the moment! I had a D&C in early November, after a MMC at 12 weeks in October. I ovulated and am having my first period now as was told to wait at least one cycle because of how much blood I lost. Now I am wondering if it will ever happen successfully for us, so totally in the same boat!

wonderlust07 · 15/12/2025 11:44

I am also now in this situation - I had a MMC at 9 weeks. I had the tablets on 11th November and only stopped bleeding late last week. I did a ovulation test on Friday and it was low and then another today and it has been marked as high on the pre mom app. I guess I will get my period in a couple of weeks.
