To stop taking the progesterone now. Chemical? Lines not getting darker

Just that. Had faint lines for days. Am 14 dpo going by OPKs.
Two days ago I had all the pregnancy symptoms now just mild cramping.
Pic is FMU last two days and this morning. Not yet dry so can't tell if it's any different to the yesterday's yet.
Don't want it to drag out so to stop with the pessaries?
Been using one morning and night.

I realise they're really faint. You might not be able to see them but trust me, there are vv faint lines there.

Keep using them, if it’s a late implantation it might be a few days before they get darker.

I say this because I had an IVF cycle where it was a stark negative on test day but I got a strong positive a few days later when I retested. Sadly mc at 7 weeks, but it’s worth you hanging on and re testing.

PennyPencils · 12/11/2025 08:58

@YoureKillingMyPeace thank you. I thought i was going to get blasted and told to stop being delusional.
I've popped one in this morning anyway as i thought one more day won't hurt.
I should see tomorrow, if still as faint or lighter I'm probably safe to stop.

Do the lines have any colour to them IRL? I've had a whole batch of cheap ones like that with awful evap lines, really fucked me up. I'd buy a FRER and if nothing on there then stop the progesterone.

PennyPencils · 12/11/2025 10:20

@tinybeautiful
Hi.
Yes theres colour when i hold to the light.
Ive been using these tests for years. Two years to conceive DD and another 15 months trying again.
Multiple chemicals and miscarriages sadly so I know these lines means there's something.
I'm sure it's a chemical. I just don't want to drop the meds one day the. The line get suddenly darker... It won't, but like I say, one more day won't do any harm I suppose.

Onwards then to next cycle. At least another chemical means my body is still churning out eggs from time to time so I'm not too down about it.

Also, I cant get FR tests here anyway x

Have you not considered that they are just evap lines? The tests you’ve posted don’t even look like faint positives either. I know you’ve said you’ve used them for years but I myself had false positives on them tests last year for 3 cycles before I stopped using them. The ones I had false positives on were also very very pink and showed up immediately and I wasn’t pregnant. There is plenty of posts about them doing the same thing. Those tests and wondfo are some of the worst tests for false positives. I was using the tests above getting a hit and miss with faint pink lines and using other tests in the same sample (first response, boots early and early tests from numerous chemists) which were coming back negative. I then started dipping multiple tests of the above in the same sample and some were positive and others were negative. You can’t be certain you’re pregnant and having a chemical pregnancy unless you’ve had bloods drawn for hcg testing, those tests are far too unreliable and do give false positives

VVM · 12/11/2025 11:36

This test also labelled as “One step” on Amazon, is a false positive. This was the cycle after having 3 months of false positives on the above tests and wondfo, so I ordered these to give them a try but this was before seeing the reviews on how awful they were for false positives. Anyway the day I got these delivered I was actually on my period and thought right let’s put them to the test, first test I done was this and this test literally was pink to the eye and showed immediately. Dipped another one of these tests and another brand in the same sample and they were negative. All I’m saying is I had months believing I was having chemical pregnancies when i infact wasn’t and was wasting hundreds upon hundreds on pregnancy tests and hcg bloods because I kept getting false positives on tests

I appreciate your comments @VVM but I am pretty sure because I'm four days (I use OPKS so no late ovulation) late plus definitely had the heavy full uterus I get when pregnant (which has faded now)

I have plenty of months of stark whiters.
I'm not going to waste anyone's time getting bloods drawn for a chemical.

I've had the same lines that have lead to all my pregnancies: the successful one and my miscarriages between around 7 and 9 weeks.

It doesn't matter really, this won't end in a successful pregnancy either way.

I only do so many tests instead of waiting so I know for the progesterone.

@VVM I appreciate the feedback though as if it wasn't for other factors, I'd write them off as possible evaps. X

Yeah I completely understand you. I had convinced myself I was infertile, infact I drove myself to insanity last year when ttc, it was all I could think about every waking hour even whilst working and I was questioning everything about my own body. I found myself asking anyone and everyone if they struggled to get pregnant before or how long it took them. One day I was in seeing my nurse having a b12 injection and I said to her … “I keep having early miscarriages do you think it’s because of the b12 being low as I will get on and off positive tests every month” and she asked how many days past your missed period are you and I was like do you know what I will be a few days late or sometimes not late at all. Anyway I realised how insane I sounded and the way she looked at me and brushed it off and said no don’t worry you will get pregnant just wait. Anyway after 6 months I did fall pregnant again however I had been an undiagnosed type 1 diabetic with a hba1c of 127 and was diagnosed in August last year, I started insulin and 3 months later I fell pregnant and had my a1c tested again and it was 42.

Sorry for my little story all I’m saying is I really do understand your struggle. I don’t think anyone can tell you to put the tests away and not to test early because even though we know we shouldn’t, it’s easier said than done. I tested everyday until around 11 weeks making sure the test wasn’t fading because I was so paranoid. First time being pregnant and diabetic, I have 4 kids in total. Anyway she’s now 4 months old x

PennyPencils · 12/11/2025 14:36

@VVM oh that's a tough ride. I'm always wondering what is causing my miscarriages as they always seem to struggle to grow from the get go. I feel like they've/ I've missed something.
Congratulations to you, glad it ended well.
After 2 years TTC my DD who's nearly 3 now, I was certainly like you. I thought of NOTHING else. But, I treasure her all the more for that struggle I'm sure x

I’m always the first to say there’s a faint line, but you really can’t see one on these pics. Maybe try a different batch.

They're hardly visible it's true. I always say if you can't even photograph it, ignore it.
It's so annoying this month. It's faintly there in person but I can't take my own advice.
If it's the same tomorrow I'll stop progesterone and wait it out.

cannynotsay · 13/11/2025 18:11

Have you tested again? Really routing for you

Miraclemuma03 · 14/11/2025 06:19

Sorry I think those are evap or indent lines. These tests are notorious for them, the line will continue to barely be there visible to the eye even when your not pregnant. Id try a different brand if you can.

PennyPencils · 14/11/2025 06:35

Hi @cannynotsay I tested daily and although faint, they got progressively lighter. Im on cycle day 34 now so waiting to bleed.

onwards ☺️

You never know, thinking of you xx

Prelim · 14/11/2025 07:41

Did you take progesterone after a positive test? Only whenever I have taken it and have had blood tests at the hospital it has artificially skewed my hcg levels, which is why you may be seeing lines?

PennyPencils · 14/11/2025 09:53

@cannynotsay AF arrived today

OP posts:
PennyPencils · 14/11/2025 09:59

@Prelim that's interesting. I've never heard that. What did the hospital say? That taking progesterone caused HCG to show in your bloods?

I have wondered if the lines were tests picking up something else but I don't think so.
I test like a crazy person from about 6dpo every month. I've been TTC For over a year and for my daughter for 2 years so I've done a lot of this brand.
I usually have no hint of a line whatsoever but on the rare month I do, the timing is right for after implantation and the lines usually get a bit darker, sometimes to a proper line, sometimes then fade before AF is a bit late.
A few times to a pregnancy which progresses further (over 9 weeks the last one)
It'd be very coincidental, so I'm really confident in these tests on that basis.

OP posts:
tinybeautiful · 14/11/2025 12:05

@Prelim that's not true about progesterone. It can delay a bleed, but it has no impact at all on pregnancy test lines as they test for HCG which is not present in progesterone.
