Do I tell my IVF clinic yet?

It’s taken us 3 years to get to this point but on Sunday I found out I was pregnant, a complete shock after years of trying. On Monday I am due to have my initial consultant appoint with our IVF clinic. It’s taken a year of back and forth to get NHS IVF funding and I’m terrified that if this pregnancy does work out that I’ll be back to square one again and the clock will restart.

Do I call up and be honest with them? Or do I delay my appointment and tell that that I got my dates wrong (I’ll be having a scan at the appointment on Monday so have to be at a certain point in my cycle)? Asking to delay my appointment until next month. Then tell them in a couple of weeks time? Potentially after a private reassurance scan.

Has anyone else been in this situation? What happened?

We were truthful with ours (both times*! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️) and all turned out well though I had exactly the same fears as you. Congratulations by the way! :)

Thank you 😊

Did they offer you anything like scans or blood tests? Also did they explain what would happen if things did turn out well?

Maybe I’m overthinking here 🙈

No nothing. We just got congratulations from the first clinic (NHS) and the second told us to keep them updated in case we wanted to reschedule at any point (private).

Oh I did get told by the second to keep taking my progesterone suppositories. They couldn’t offer me any more but advised I contact the EPU for a new prescription as I’d had three miscarriages by that point.
