Hey ladies! Just really want to hear people's experience of falling pregnant late 30s! I've been trying for my second now for a year with 2 early miscarriages during that time. I'm now seeking help with a private fertility clinic after having all tests with NHS and everything coming back as 'normal'

Would just love to hear how long it took those of you that were on the wrong side of 30 🤪

Naturally you'll hear mixed stories that will be difficult extrapolate to your own.

Some take a bit longer to conceive in the late 30s. But many do with no problems.

While you can certainly map fertility with age, your age is rarely sole determinant. I've seen people in the early to mid-20s struggle for years with infertility, and heard of people in their early 40s conceiving quickly without issue. Yes usually it's the reverse, but fertility is complex.

This is really well put. I'd agree - age has some bearing of course but it isn't the only factor by any means.

Of course I completely agree. I've just got to the point of 12 months in, I just can't see how it will ever happen. Just looking for some hope I guess as its really hard to stay positive at times x

Hi op. I fell pregnant at 41. Had a miscarriage the previous month but successfully gave birth to my youngest girl when I was 42.

myheadsjustmush · 03/11/2025 10:17

It certainly does happen! I fell pregnant with my first at 38, second at 41, and my third (unplanned but very loved!) at 43.

Good luck! 🤞

I would say around 8/9 months - but it was so long ago, my memory is a bit hazy now! 😂
