Is this a positive opk (first period after abortion)

Hi. Is this positive? Had an abortion in August (really regret it) now TTC. this is my first period after (which has lasted 2 weeks, currently still bleeding). I’ve just got this opk. Is it positive? Is it possible to ovulate if still bleeding?

I probably should also say that I’ve had much fainter lines the last week and I’ve had a negative pregnancy test too so not leftover hormones

Well yes, though it's quite unlikely.

Even then, theoretically, a shedding uterine wall would not make the best conditions for embryo to implant into.

Yes you can be about to ovulate while still bleeding. Especially if things are settling down after a termination. I hope you’re okay.

@dundermiffling thanks so much for asking. I am ok. Filled with so much regret and guilt doing what I did. It made me realise what I want and now I just want to be pregnant again

Gently, I would say it's normal to feel guilt, it's not a light decision for everyone.

My only gratuitous advice would be take a moment before rushing into TTC conceive.

Another baby does not erase actions of the past. There was a reason you pursued a termination. Understandable and human to feel differently now. But it will be just as human to feel differently in months or years time.

Hi OP, I would recommend letting your cycle re-establish itself after the previous months, especially if you're getting positive opks whilst bleeding. PP is correct in that a shedding uterine lining isn't hospitable to an egg. Also to get your emotions and thoughts all straight again 🙏

Thanks for the thoughts and concerns, really kind of you all. But I have had time to think and it’s been 2 months. It’s definitely what I want, the abortion bleeding stopped and this is my first period after.

Is it with the same partner or are you in a different position now?

With my husband, we already have 2 children

Be kind to yourself @Mamabear256 and reach out to the services from your termination provider if you want some proper support or just a human to talk to who understands where you are right now.

I don’t know if you’re aware but many women get positive ovulation tests days before and during their period it’s very common
