Hi everyone,
We're planning to start TTC in the best few months. I currently take iron and folic acid supplements prescribed by the doctor for a deficiency, I'm planning on going to the doctors beforehand but has anyone else TTC with a deficiency?
Did you need to take a higher dosage of folic acid during the first few months of pregnancy?

Morning!
I’m also deficient in b12, have been taking folic acid forever anyway (feels like it lol) so unsure if I would have been low there too. I would continue with whatever your dr has recommended and maybe ask for repeat bloods beforehand to see if levels have gone up. We’d already been ttc and had a MC before finding out about my b12 so no idea if it would have made any difference. My dr recommended a blood test 3 months after starting supplements. If still low I’ll be discussing pernicious anaemia as theres a family history of this. Sorry probably not the most helpful but didn’t want to read and run X
