Experiences with Metformin for PCOS when TTC

I have recently been diagnosed with PCOS after going for advice for fertility. My partner and I have been ttc for 1 year now. I have some hormonal disbanded which doctor suggests can be regulated with metformin and could help with fertility. Wondering if there is anyone who has had similar advice, has taken the medication, has had any success conceiving? Please share any of your stories as I am worried and anxious and have no idea what to do

I take 2000mg daily . I had done for years since 2021 but I've since stopped as to be honest, it was doing absolutely nothing for me.
It's one of those things, for some it works , for some it doesn't.

Hi @mnieve i was diagnosed with pcos last year after having 40-60 day cycles (I had conceived twice like this though) The first month being on it I had a 30 day cycle & conceived. Unheard of for me to have a normal cycle length. Unfortunately ended in MC. My next 2 cycles were 38 days and then 40 days. I conceived again, but I was hoping my cycle lengths would shorten but they don’t seem to be. They aren’t as long as before but not quite where I’d like them to be

Thank you for sharing your experience @Figtree11 I am sorry to hear about your MC.
It is encouraging for me hearing about you conceiving on it. I conceived while not on any medication but it resulted in MC. I haven’t been able to conceive since (about a year now). My cycles are usually very regular but bloods showed I have hormone imbalances hence why the GP wants to start me on metformin.
