What is going on with my cycle? (Cervical mucus and ovulation)

Have been TTC for a few cycles now. Recently my cycles have been slightly shortening in length from around 27-28 days to 25 days on the most recent. (Period came today)
I think app is predicting my ovulation inaccurately.
Going by my egg white cervical mucus… I don’t seem to get this until around day 13 and this usually indicates ovulation is imminent? So most likely I am ovulating on day 14 perhaps. I do get quite heavy EWCM on around CD 13/14 which is very obvious.
in this case does this mean my luteal phase is short? E.g 11 days approx.

should I start doing ovulation tests to confirm more accurately?
just confused as I start to see fertile CM in mid cycle but period is coming slightly earlier.

Hi lovely, i never ever trust apps. My ovulation is irregular as I have pcos and my cycles are 30-32 days (although this month 40 days!!)
I use opks and EWCM tracking. Apps are only based upon a standard 28 day cycle but women’s luteal phases vary widely from one to another.
I would definitely do opks so you can match EWCM with LH peak.
EWCM can show up up to 5 days before ovulation I think
I trust this helps !

Thanks so much.

Yes - the thing I was concerned about is that my luteal phase may be short, as EWCM is showing up day 13-14 so suggests I am ovulating at a 'normal' point but my cycles are not really any longer 28 days, now more like 25-26. I just hope this wont affect conceiving. I'll start OPKs I think!

A luteal phase is within normal range when about 10-14 days 🤞🏼 good luck !
