Hoping someone may have been through something similar and can help me. I recently received my partners sperm test result in a letter which said it was ‘sub-optimal’ very vague to me so I’m not sure how bad it is. The doctor said because of this he is prescribing me 3 rounds of letrozole 2.5mg to be taken between cycle day 2 to 6 and if I’m still not pregnant after 3 months then he will prescribe me 3 more months of it. I don’t have my follow up appointment until Monday so I have loads of questions and no answers.
I have had a 21 day progesterone test and it came back strong at 53 (anything over 30 means ovulation occurred) so I can’t understand why he’s prescribing me letrozole and how it will help.
im hoping the sperm test wasn’t too bad as they haven’t asked for a repeat test which I was told they would do if the test came back negative. They also have said my partner will be getting any type of treatments or further testing.
Know I’ll get more answers on Monday but I’m so worried and my mind is now spiralling.
