Hi all,

TTC for a while now and nothing so far. Me and my partner have had loads of testing done, everything has come back as normal so we are looking at probably going down as unexplained.
I have just received my follow up appointment which is next week, I was told that this would be with the consultant but the clinician is listed the infertility nurse. What can I expect from this appointment?

I forgot to mention this is our second appointment, had our first one with the same nurse via telephone in April

Sorry - I have no answers but was hoping you could help me! To get your appointment, did you just call your GP ? do you have to be trying for so many months before they see you out of interest?
Thankyou and sorry I can't help you with your question! Xx

I’ve had two fertility appointments with the hospital - the first they said that we have unexplained infertility and our best bet was to try ivf.

Then we have a follow up booked as following a hycosy I had a miscarriage.

If you haven’t been tested yet I’d recommend getting anything you can

  • hormone panel (amh/fsh/testosterone/ progesterone)
  • thyroid/prolactin/ferratin
  • hycosy - to check tubes
  • sperm check

@Runnergirl27 you have to have been trying for a year if under 35 or 6 months plus if 35 +

I’d recommend a hertility test too if you can afford they’re about 150 quid and flagged for me I might have PCOS which I spoke to my gp about.

Thanks Char, had all of this done already and everything appears normal.

How long were you trying before they recommended IVF?

@Catlady1991 2 years then they started the IVF process and I had a hycosy and got pregnant the cycle after — and then unfortunately miscarried.

But apparently we’re still on the IVF list so are going back to see what they recommend post miscarriage.

Unexplained fertility is SO frustrating every time I speak to someone they say ‘all your tests look great there’s nothing wrong’ and my husband has above average sperm 💀
