TTC - Folic Acid and change in cycle/causing spotting

Hi all
I’m currently TTC #2 and have a very regular (albeit fairly short) cycle of 24 days.
I have been taking 400 micrograms of active folic for about two months now and this cycle I’ve experienced spotting mid cycle. Monday was a tiny amount just when I wiped on one occasion, Tuesday was tiny amounts at different points of the day, nothing at all on Wednesday then back to some light spotting today (Thurs). All really light pink or red in colour.
has anyone experienced a change in their cycle from folic acid? It’s the only thing I can think that might be causing it. I’m still a week away from my period so it’s definitely not that. Many thank

Do you know when you ovulated? You need a ten day luteal phase really to have a chance for a fertilised egg to implant and if you are also spotting before then that may be an issue. I've not experienced any issues with folic acid and obviously it's important to take it. Good luck.

I used to spot and had borderline progesterone, have you had that tested? Needs to be a specific point in cycle which should be easy to test as you have predictable ones. I haven't had any spotting mid cycle since having my son however and not sure why.

Can you ask your local pharmacist?

Is there a chance you could be pregnant and experiencing implantation bleeding if you are a week off your period. Not putting any hopes up but this happened to me

@Springadorable I tend to ovulate right at the end of my period, probably 10 or 11 DPO now. Never took any ovulation tests as wanted to see if it could happen without worrying but the bleeding has thrown me. Currently 5 days of spotting on and off now and still 5 days to go before AF is due.

@Imisscoffee2021 ive had this tested about two years ago and all was okay but might be worth a go again, thanks for the suggestion!

@Redcurrent100 i actually took a pregnancy test today, clear blue early detection but I think I’ve got a false positive as the line is very thin and I also took a clear & simple (cheap £2) test which was completely negative. Photo attached

That line is thin but might be detecting hcg, can you get a first response early response? That was my earliest positive, picks up something as low as 5pmol or something hcg so might be more accurate.

Clear blue are terrible for evaps, which I agree this looks like as it's pretty grey and thin. Hopefully it's an early positive but I've had a lot of false hope with these tests.
