Experiences starting 14 year old on POP

My 14 year old daughter suffers horrendously with her periods. She throws up sometimes 4 plus times. One month I couldn’t get her off the bathroom floor and she was screaming in the background and 111 dispatched an ambulance thinking it might be appendicitis or something else. She can’t keep pain relief down enough to ease the cramps. She is also autistic so that all adds to the distress. The dr has started her in a POP, she started if 3 days ago and we go on holiday in a week (her period is due while we are on holiday 🤦‍♀️) just anxious all round really. Looking for experiences from others who have tried it.

I don’t know what POP is but my DD started taking the pill when she was 12 for similar reasons. The bleeding and pain was utterly distressing for her. The now takes 5 packs back to back without a break and then has 3 weeks off and a light bleed during that time. It’s been life changing for her.
