Looks utterly normal to me

and even if “a bit dark” …. Doesnt indicate anything so very early on!

outofoffice111 · 25/07/2025 08:41

I do not think I have ever seen a test this dark before at 13/14 dpo :-0

This is not to alarm you, just to advise you, but I would probably get in touch with your midwife team and let them know you’ve had such a dark early test. High HCG isn’t linked to definite twins, but it is linked to molar pregnancies and sometimes ectopic. It would be good if those could be ruled out as soon as possible for you.

Molar was on my radar too - do you agree its quite alarmingly dark for 13/14 dpo! Ectopic has not crossed my mind as no pain

I think ectopics only cause pain once they start becoming dangerous. The shoulder pain is due to rupture irritating a certain nerve for example, and you don’t want to get to that point.

It’s extremely dark for so early, yes.

This looks perfectly fine op . Ovulation and implantation is not exact even with test strip's. Some woman on the day of a missed period get really good positive lines thats why its said wait for a missed period to test because its much more accurate. A dark line does not indicate anything is wrong it just means your hcg levels are good. The best thing now moving forward is either tracking hcg levels or doing a 7 week scan for viability. Good luck and congratulations . Just enjoy the bubble for now.

Hey! How did you get on?

I’ve just had this test at 12dpo! Nowhere near as dark as yours, though.

I had a scan last Saturday and measured a singleton intrauterine pregnancy but ahead for dates at 8+5!

I was fairly certain when I ovulated as used OPKs and CM monitoring, so must have been a big strong embryo.

My tests continued to get darker until 5 weeks, looking forward to my NHS scans and praying for a healthy pregnancy.

Just demolished a Dominoes pizza as cannot face anything else 🤣
